Thinking back about my life the older I have gotten the more mature thinking about who I am
and what has caused me to become who I am. My father is at the top of my list as an impact on who I
am. He has helped me realize how to be and become a man, actions to take, words to speak. Everything
that has an effect on how you carry yourself and how you speak to others has come from him. I am in a
way a younger version of him. Although there are positive and negative parts of that I have matured
enough to realize why we are the same on each of those. We both want to help others, provide for a
Another person who has had a major effect on me in a positive way would be my high school
football coach. I was too immature at the time to understand and appreciate the value of having him
apart of my life. The way he led and encouraged me is something I genuinely think back on daily. The
habits and routines he instilled in us is something I find myself going back to in my college life when I
realize the importance and benefits within those habits. He was such a great leader and mentor with all
his players. No matter the time apart anytime a old player returns he picks up right where they left off
and asks how things are going. I have never seen a player return to him after a long time apart and not
There are two major events in my life that affected me tremendously for good and bad. The first
being a car crashed through my house when I was 7 years old. We were out of our house for a full year
and had major problems within the family because of that. Financially and emotionally the family
suffered whether it strengthened us or tore us apart I can not tell you. It definitely took a major tole on
The other major event that happened in my life started off as a bad thing but actually became a
great thing. I was playing college golf at Wallace state and ended up being suspended from the golf team
my second year due to another teammates parents. A troubled kid who I genuinely cared for and tried to
help get on the right path couldn’t achieve that. He was kicked off and sent to rehab and I was targeted
by his parents. They went over the coach, the athletic director and straight to the president of the
school. Without ever being able to stand up for myself or explain how much I cared for this kid and tried
to help him do better, I was suspended. Although this took me by surprise and felt like someone
completely broke me it taught me a little lesson of the real world and how some people are. These
parents had always been extremely nice to us but because their son was kicked off, they had to take
others down too. Just like that myself and one other guy who also was the only person trying to help
were taken out. We both learned a lot from that and now I believe we are both better off from that
Hero’s in my life are people who have helped me find daily practices of success. I don’t personally know

All of my heroes are hard working in separate careers. Something they all have in common is
their determined to separate goals but work hard in their career. All of my heros are older and
wiser in their professions and are able to retire but choose not to. They work because that’s
what they love and they’re determined to succeed in their individual goals.
