Aim Pre-activity (5 minutes)

To introduce a guest on a chat show • Ask students to imagine they are going to interview a famous
person. Brainstorm questions they would ask him/her, e.g.
Language Where are you from? When did you start acting? Who inspired
Questions you to start writing? What are your plans for this year? etc.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE
You can change this worksheet on computer or
by hand, using the customizable version.
Here are some ideas:
• Change the questions to add variety and
level, or if you have a particular famous
person in mind, adapt the questions
accordingly.
• Ask the students to devise their own
questions and then swap with their partner.
• Explain that students are chat show hosts and that they have
invited another student to appear on their show. First they are
going to interview the student to find out some background
information. Then they are going to introduce him/her to the
audience on their chat show.
• Divide students into pairs and give each student a copy of the
worksheet. Give students time to think of the questions they
would need to ask to complete the interview card.
• Students interview each other and note the answers on the
interview card. Go around listening, helping, and correcting
as necessary.
• When everybody is ready, group two pairs together to make
groups of four students. Students take turns being the chat
show host and introduce their partner to the audience (the
other pair in the group) using the notes they have made. Go
around listening, noting down any common errors to go over at
the end.

Extension (5 minutes)
• Display all the interview cards on the classroom wall. Allow
students time to read them and find out about each other.
