ACTIVITY 2. LET’S APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED!

Make a reflection. Use the result of your interview to answer the questions for your
reflection.
1. Who is global teacher? What are the attributes of the global teacher?
Answer: A global teacher is one who possesses the necessary abilities and competencies to
handle teaching styles and practices both locally and internationally. A global teacher has the
ability to be adaptable and 21st century prepared through digitally educated and efficient
learning environments. The module mentions the following characteristics of a global teacher:
1. Understand how this world is interconnected;
2. Recognize that the world has rich variety of ways of life;
3. Have a vision of the future and sees what the future would be for himself/herself and
the students;
4. Understand, respect and tolerant of the diversity of cultures; believe and take action
for education that will sustain the future; facilitate digitally-mediated learning;
5. Possess good communication skills (for Filipino teachers to be multilingual)
6. Aware of international teacher standard and framework and
7. Master the competence of the Beginning Teacher in the Philippine Professional
Standards for teachers (PPST, 2017). This attributes given makes up a teacher being
a global teacher it called.
2. Can the teacher whom you have interviewed be classified as a global teacher? Why or
why not?
Ma'am Myda, in my opinion, may be regarded a global teacher despite the fact that she
has no experience teaching overseas since she possesses the teaching traits,
characteristics, and ideals that a global teacher must have. She is timely relevant, and her
talents, teaching strategies, and modalities are outfitted with 21st-century tools and
learning aids that will enable her to pursue a teaching profession.
3. Can one be a global teacher, without teaching abroad? Explain.
Yes, a teacher may be regarded a global teacher even if she does not teach overseas, as
long as she is prepared and experienced in any learning setting. Because of their teaching
talents and attributes, local instructors are already global teachers.
4. Reflect on the statement: “as a global teacher, act locally but think globally”
For me, the statement "as a global teacher, act locally but think globally" implies that a teacher must
behave in the manner dictated or practiced by his or her culture, but in terms of teaching practices
and techniques, he or she must act or behave in a globally standard manner in order to be globally
competitive and ready in any teaching environment, teaching culture, and methods.
