Assignment

There is a need for organizations to be able to effectively adapt to the changes


that occur in this field. It is for this reason that organizations have to be aware of
the changes encountered in this field. As a result of the effects of the globalization
phenomenon, the human resource management field is increasingly evolving. It is
necessary that the HRM is well aware of the happenings in the field. Increasingly,
there are job losses, the need to control labour costs, changes to the labour laws,
shortage in the skills in the market, and technology. Continuous training of
professionals in the Human resources field, is, therefore, necessary, if the
organizations are to enhance their competitive advantage in their areas of
operation.

1. Highlight the factors that contribute to the high number of Kenyans working
outside the country. (10 Marks)
2. The Kenya government has come up with measures that are designed to
enhance job creation and help alleviate the unemployment situation in the
country. As a human resources management expert, explain the factors that
may account for the high rates of unemployment in Kenya (10 Marks)
3. Enhancing labour productivity is a priority area for human resource
managers. Examine the measures that a firm can adopt to enhance labour
productivity. (10 Marks)
