Post Rehearsal or Lesson Reflections

Content Adjustment: Based on diagnostic and formative assessments during today’s lesson/rehearsal, list any repertoire
or activities that were omitted from the plan. Why? Will the omitted items need to be included in tomorrow’s
lesson/rehearsal?

There were no items omitted from the lesson plan on this day.

Rehearsal or Lesson Adjustment: If you were going to re-teach today’s lesson/rehearsal, how would you have done it
differently.

If I could reteach today's lesson, I would have spent more time on the Eb major scale before doing it in a round. We did not
play through the scale by itself before doing the round, so it made the round exercise less effective. I did decide to go
straight into the round to see how they would do, but I now know that these students need to run through it once before
doing the round.

Reflection on Teaching: Analyze and evaluate your lesson/rehearsal and classroom management.

I completed my Unit Pretest today, and the results will be listed in my Unit document. This lesson went well overall and I
did not have to omit anything from the plan. I knew that I would have to have a fast pace on this day because I had many
items to attend to, and I think that helped the flow of the lesson overall. I think the students were surprised by the fast
pace of the lesson, and I noticed that some of them needed a few minutes to adjust to it. The fast pace of the lesson also
helped the behavior management in the class. During this class, I normally have to address talking at least twice, and I did
not have to do that this time. The warmup exercises are going well, but they are not improving at the pace I would like
them to. I think we need to focus on breathing a lot more, so I think I might start incorporating a breathing gym into their
daily routine.
