number of those vaccinated was
due to the growing interest of the
said personnel which was because

made the personnel feel the need
of the said vaccination.
“At first, it was actually expected
that the vaccination rate would not
be that high. This was because
majority was still so hesitant about
it,” she added.
She also explained that the high
percentage was also due to the

This motivates the advo-
cacy of the Greenfield to continually
promote Sambal Candelaria through its
yearly publication.
“With the emergence of different
social media platforms that are usually
utilized by the young Candelareans,
a tendency to make them forget their
dialect is possible,” Ginalyn Edpalin,
Greenfield adviser explained stating
that some of these youths no longer
use the said dialect.
This she said inspired the publica-
tion’s advocacy which is to incorporate
Sambal-Candelaria in its issue every
year.

“We started this last 2018, where we
featured the notable things Candelaria
has. It continued in 2019, and then this
year,” Edpalin recounted explaining that
they used the dialect especially in their
feature section, then made the transla-
tion of it, following the school paper’s
medium which is English.
Edpalin still added that eventhough
the move is just a small one, she hopes
that this would inspire Candelareans to
preserve their dialect amid the growing
fanaticism of youths in foreign languag-
es and also promote more the beauty
of the dialect knowing that the publica-
tion reaches different provinces of the
country on its consistent qualification to
regional and national press conferences

gay,” Edpalin said, expressing
her gratitude for the trust

the midst of this pandemic.

“This has always been about the current family
situation that even if they do not want to make
their children work while studying, it seems that
they do not have the choice; however, the school
tries its best to have an intervention for them, so
they wouldn’t be left behind,” Sonia D. Tejada,
Principal IV said, explaining that the school is
also extending help to these students who are
experiencing difficulties like this in this time of
pandemic.
She said that in order for them to at least cope
with the situation, they are given enough time to
work. They are also provided with teacher-made
materials that the teachers themselves bring
to them. They are also communicated well via
messenger or SMS.
“We aim for the best for all our learners. We
always keep in our hearts and mind that no
one from them should be left behind,” Tejada
concluded, explaining that even if education is

n this time that hope among people seems to decline, there is only one that
they can rely – FAITH, which for them is a companion that gives them hope
that no matter how bad the crisis may bring their lives, there is always this
providence that’s Divine.
With the prevalence of
COVID-19 at present, it’s
very timely that Candelaria
through the Parish Priest of
St. Vincent Ferrer Parish,
Rev. Fr. Adrian Ermita and
all the devoted Candelar-
eans have installed San
Roque, the Patron of All the
Sick as its Patron Menor
next to St. Vincent Ferrer;
he who is usually asked
to intercede to Father
Almighty for healing from
any disease.

why run for a position? For her,
true intention of a leader naturally
comes out. No matter how he tries
to conceal his true intention, it would
still be revealed in time. A genuine
leadership does not bring false hope
of change for the people, instead he
puts it into action.

jority, Kikay decided to get into actual
direction, clueless of what might
happen next, but God will always
provide. His purpose for your life is
to empower others. One day, you
will be remembered about how your
actions have touched people’s lives.

Facebook once said, “Leadership
is about making others better as
a result of your presence, and
making sure that impact lasts in
your absence.” In this era where
true leadership is quite confusing
against merely politicking to seek for
more power, it’s somewhat a breath
of fresh air knowing that there are
these new breeds of leaders with
idealism that’s worthy not only of
people’s trust but also of admiration
from their fellows who also hope to
be as adroit as them in the field of
management.

heard from the simple Candelareans
whose form of simple living comes from
its natural resources. Known as the rice
granary of the North, people usually
derive living from farming, the reason it
tends to celebrate Laruk Laruk Festival
every October to commemorate every
farmer’s effort of bringing food to every
Candelarean’s table.
Yet this simple, but happy living
tends to be endangered on the issue of
mining that according to some author-
ities and reliable sources is about to
operate in the town.

kung sakaling ito ay magtu-
loy-tuloy,” Tatay Jhun, a

Barangay Pinagre-

landslides that when investigated

bring progress to Candelaria which is
one of the third class municipalities of
the province. He added that this may
enhance this municipality’s economic
growth and most of all would create
employment among its people, yet all
these are just temporary. Given with
the mining activities in the country
that are usually irresponsible, it’s
possible that one day this town would
also be on that same state when its
mountains are started to be tilled so
that those mines in it would all be
collected.

We all want to go back to the
old normal we used to be in. For
sure, everybody wants it, then
right now be vaccinated.
This is seen as the penultimate
solution to this health problem
that we’ve been experiencing for

(SSG) of Pamibian Integrated School

“I

31-year old nurse confessed after being
infected by the virus upon exposure to
a colleague who tested positive.
And upon her knowledge of a colleague
who was confirmed infected, she right away
had the antigen test from which she tested
negative, yet still did self-isolation.
Later, she already felt symptoms like
fever, clogged nose and loss of smell.
She underwent antigen test anew from
which she was reactive, then the other
day swab test (RTPCR) for confirma-
tion. As expected, she tested positive.
Racquel, who has been serving as
Nurse under DOH for seven years in
RHU Masinloc, just gave a binding
witness on how hard it is to be infect-
ed, and that nobody would want to
feel the same.
“From this period, I started to feel body
malaise along with the loss of smell and
clogged nose. Then one night, I felt heavi-
