Learning Contract

This contract serves as an agreement between the student and teacher in this class.
This paper outlines some of the terms and conditions that students can expect from the
Reading and Writing Skills subject in the second semester of the school year 2022-
2023. Here are the following:

1. As a student, I understand that this course is divided into canvas and face-to-
face sessions.

1.a. I understand that during Canvas Day sessions, I must study the lessons and
complete the assigned readings and activities that my teacher will post on the
course platform. I am also aware that each activity in the Canvas course has a
deadline, and failure to submit outputs on time without a valid reason is
unacceptable.

1.b. Canvas Days are allotted for asynchronous sessions, which take place
every Wednesday unless there is a holiday or unforeseen circumstances. As a
student, however, I have the right to access Canvas during my free time to do
advance study or a review.

1.c. Meanwhile, Face-to-Face sessions take place according to the course's


schedule. I understand that failing to attend classes results in being marked
absent.

1.d. As a student, I am also aware that it is my responsibility to ask questions


about concepts, topics, and ideas that are unclear to me during face-to-face
sessions. Furthermore, it is expected of me to participate and take part in class
discussions and discourses. I will not allow myself, my classmates, or my
teacher to be disrespected by failing to do advance reading or view canvas
discussions.
2. I understand that failure to fulfill my responsibilities is not acceptable unless
supported by valid reasons.

2.a. If I am unable to attend face-to-face sessions, I must provide proof by


preparing an excuse letter signed by my parents or guardians with supporting
pertinent documents together with the attached copy of my guardian’s I.D. I
must submit the letter via Tamspace.

2.b. I also understand that instructions, directions, or mechanics are an


important part of any activity, and that failure to follow them will not be
tolerated.

2.c. In any group activity, I understand that I will not receive a grade if I do not
cooperate and fulfill my responsibilities as a group member. If I want to
compensate, I must perform and resubmit the same output individually. I will
only have at most ten (10) days after the original deadline to submit it.

2.d. If proven guilty based on the investigation by the subject teacher and the
Office of the Grade Level Head that I committed academic dishonesty such as
cheating during exams, quizzes and performances as well as disobedience to
examination and performance task guidelines shall not be tolerated and must
receive a grade of zero (0). In such cases, policies set by the academic
department in the Student Handbook shall apply. If I wish to be given a chance
to comply and submit, I will only have at most ten (10) days after the original
deadline to submit it.

2.e. Aside from the situations mentioned above, if I missed requirements in the
course due to health-related concerns will be given a chance to comply and
submit especially if it is considered valid and the appeal was approved by the
academic department.

Statement and Undertaking

I fully recognize and respect the learning contract in Reading and Writing
Skills. I understand and acknowledge the terms and conditions set by the
subject. For this reason, I undertake to strictly abide by the rules and
regulations that are now or may hereinafter be prescribed by the subject.
