About the Show:
The show that we watched was Jeeto Pakistan, which is a Pakistani game
show, hosted by actor Fahad Mustafa. It airs on ARY Digital on Friday &
Sunday at 7:30 pm and it broadcasts in Karachi. Jeeto Pakistan, which was
launched on 18 May 2014, has been wining hearts of people from all over
the country ever since. It is now called the "biggest game show" of
Pakistan. The participants are selected randomly from the audience, who
require passes for attending the show.
There are several fun segments into which the show is divided, each
segment involves contestant prizes in return for achieving game tasks given by the host. The prizes
include motor vehicles, gold, cash prizes, vacation packages and a lot of other exciting prizes. The
show is fully sponsored by commercial brands.
About the Host:
Fahad Mustafa, is a Pakistani film and television producer, actor and host, who is best known for
hosting the game show “Jeeto Pakistan”, Fahad has recognized himself as one of the prominent
hosts of Pakistan entertainment industry.

Critical Analysis:
 SOPs for Covid 19:
Very early on, it was evident that the show was practicing Covid 19 guidelines as the members of
the audience were seated with distance between them and they were also seen wearing gloves
whenever they held mics or interacted with other objects. However, majority of the audience
members were not wearing masks which is highly irresponsible, keeping in mind the mask
mandate. It should also be taken in account, the amount of influence this game show has on its
viewers, it should not indulge in such behaviors rather they should use their platform to educate
people that despite being vaccinated, it is mandatory for everyone to wear masks.
 Food wastage:
From the various segments on the show, we stumbled upon a segment that although some might
find entertaining, we certainly did not! The segment consisted of a game in which the player had
to use their mouths to transfer fruits dipped in yogurt, from one bowl to another. The players had
yogurt all over their mouths and considering how unsanitary it was, the fruits would obviously not
be used again resulting in unnecessary food wastage. This should go for all game shows, not to
include any sort of games where food is wasted.

 Patience of the host:

Another thing, we noticed during the different segments of the show is how patient the host needs
to be. Fahad Mustafa ticked all the boxes in this category. Dealing with overbearing audience
members is hardly an easy task but he carried it out effortlessly. In the show, he can be seen giving
many members of the audience multiple chances and making sure they don’t go home empty-

handed. During the Sunday episode, an elderly woman approached him with a photo frame with
his picture in it along with a text that read “Mera beta”. Upon reading this, he said “Maa jee, issi
baat pey ap k liye aik bike.” Following this, he was challenging the audience to narrate the
multiplication tables in Punjabi. When he approached a woman regarding this, she failed but he
kept giving her chances to make up for it. She failed many times but instead of moving on to the
next person, he gave her some time to practice and eventually she got it right.

 Bad humor:
Jeeto Pakistan gives amusement and Fahad Mustafa is working effectively, however, in some cases
he goes too far along humor and being discourteous. Like the Sunday’s show, where he was being
a bit private and stretching the boundaries with the recently married, particularly the husband to
be in regard to his age. Likewise, the old couple who were playing for the 'couple segment'. They
were the two educators and merited significantly more regard. Humor is something to be thankful
for, yet, utilizing it shrewdly is shockingly better. This is the thing that Fahad Mustafa needs to
chip away at. In addition, calling individuals Uncle/Aunty and making fun of their names is
amazingly senseless. We have seen nothing like this on any other game show. We're not being
basic by any means. Our families watch the game show consistently and are major devotees of it,
so we felt it is time someone brings up the defects with the goal that they can be stayed away from
later on.

 Generosity of the host:

Fahad is a good person by heart, making people happy brings a wide smile on his face. It felt so
nice to watch the ‘bat ban gayi’ segment as Fahad called a boy from the audience who didn’t
seem mentally well. Fahad asked him to choose a box number of his choice and whenever he chose
one, Fahad told him to make another choice by saying “yeh wala acha nhi hai, tum koi aur
dabba batao” as he wanted the boy to win something better. The boy got angry and was going to
go back sit on his seat, but Fahad kept stopping him saying “acha naraz tou nhi ho aise, tum
batao tumhain chahie kya hai?” The boy told him that he wanted to win a bike, so Fahad held
his hand and opened the box having the bike card. The boy was so happy and overwhelmed on
winning a bike and so was Fahad.

 Endless grind of workers:

Lastly, throughout the segment, we also noticed how the workers of the show moved swiftly along
the host and worked tirelessly in the whole episode. Whether it was arranging mics for the
members of the audience or setting up the gaming equipment, they could be seen running and
trying to get things done in time. Although it is their job but still we feel that they should cut these
workers some slack and derive more convenient methods. For example, a segment in the show
consisted of a simple game where the player has to slide the tires in the allotted sections. As the
players play the game, the workers move quickly to grab those tires and give them back to the
player. This game processes for a minute but in that minute, the three workers remain attentive
and tirelessly run around to get those tires back in place. It is crucial that such workers should be
acknowledged as human beings and given much easier tasks.
