Part 1 Writing:

Where were you?

Objective: Write about past events using

vocabulary and time expressions that provide
more details about your activities

English Use, Grammar and Vocabulary:

● Past simple.

Requirements:
● The written part must have at least 200
words.
● Use the simple past in your answer.

● Be careful with the use of capital letters and punctuation marks.

Activity:

1. Write an email to your best friend giving details about your last vacation trip.
Don’t forget to explain in details about time when happened and the activities you
did.
Example:
Hi Jenny,
I finally came back from my vacation. I had a nice time. I went to United States. I decided
to travel on Tuesday, March 2nd. I traveled with my mom and my brother. When we arrived
to the airport, we took a taxi to the hotel. The hotel was nice and fancy.
The cities were wonderful. I hope you can travel to Las Vegas, Washington DC, New York
and Orlando. The cities are clean and the people are very kind and punctual. We did a lot
of activities and ate different food. We went to Disney World and that was amazing. I
attached pictures in this email.

I was on vacation I had a lot of fun together with my family, we traveled to
Cartagenas to see the dolphins on January 12 at 6 in the afternoon and
we arrived at dawn on the 13th everyone had a lot of fun the beach was
very beautiful from the place where we were we stayed that night.
The next day we traveled through the tourist areas of Cartagena,
everything was very nice, the weather was beautiful. At 10 in the morning
they enjoyed being on the beach, almost not leaving it all day.
Because seeing potato's face when I ride jet skis on the beach, it was
really all very nice.

Activity:

1. Answer these three questions:

● Where did you travel on your last vacation?

● When did you travel on your last vacation?

● What did you do on your last vacation?

On my previous vacation, I traveled to Cartagena de Indias with my whole family to

see the tourist attractions. We traveled on January 12 and returned on January 20.
What I did the most during the entire trip was distract myself by seeing the
landscapes that surrounded us, which were very beautiful. The truth is, I also took
the opportunity to learn a little more about the food of the Atlantic coast, which was a
very rich experience.
The Rosario Islands was one of the attractions that we all loved, there was a very
rich breeze, everything was very calm, then we went to see the walls, although I did
not like it as much as the islands, it was also a very nice experience.
The most important thing about the whole trip was that we spent a lot of time with the
family and it was what we needed to be well again and start the year in the best way.
Cartagena is one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia and has well-known tourist
attractions.
We met the dolphins and my little girl loved it so much that it was the best part of the
trip for her.
