Competition:

Dear reader,
I am entering the ‘National Youth Film Awards’ film festival. This award ceremony is
partnered with ODEON. You are judged by a select panel and the receiving an award of this
event is an acknowledgment of outstanding youth film talent – whether that be directing,
acting or an overall good production.
The deadline for this festival is June 30th, but the competition did open on March the 25th.
NYFA has an entry of £15 for a student, which is quite reasonable in my opinion. The
winners are selected by a judge panel and these winners win a trophy and the acknowledge of
their talents. The notification date about who wins is August the 31st, and the actual event will
take place on December 2nd.
There are very few rules:

2021, and 30th June 2023) and have be a resident of the UK.
 It must be between 8-30 minutes.
 Industry professionals, including freelancers, may submit. However, submitted films
must be produced in a non-commercial capacity. Any films that are made with the
intent of sales and promotion of a product, service, or brand will not be accepted.
 Must be a live action film we do not currently accept animation, documentary, or
music videos.
 Submission must be made by the applicant who may either be the named producer,

festivals and awards are eligible to participate.
 All submissions must be received no later than 2359hrs (GMT) on 30th June 2022.

 The selection of the jury panel and the judging process shall be at the Organiser’s sole
and absolute discretion. Each Applicant shall accept and abide by any and all
decisions made by the Organiser in relation to National Youth Film Awards,
including and not limited to, the Terms and Conditions, evaluation criteria and the
awarding of prizes. No enquiries, appeals, verbal or written, shall be entertained.
 Any decision made by the Organiser in relation to the conduct of National Youth Film
Awards is final, binding, and conclusive and will not be challenged on any grounds,
including without limitation, grounds that the Organiser failed to act reasonably or
fairly.
There are many categories to choose from such as:
 Best short film.
 Best Music video.
 Best director.
 Best original screenplay.
 Best Actor.
 Best cinematography.
 Best editing.
 Best original music.
There are also special and overall awards that fall into these categories:
 Rising star award.
 Set ready best film award.
 Bets film.
 Lifetime Achievement.
 Outstanding contribution to the development of young film talent.
And I will be entering the best short film. I think I could win because I have a vision in my
head, I have become very passionate about the mise-en-scene I have created and the
characters. I am excited to start scriptwriting and getting my production together. I have
passion and I enjoy creating work. And in this case, I have been wanting to produce
something like this since a kid, and I am applying all the skills I have learnt since joining The
Henley College’s Creative media production course and am trying new techniques during this
production.
