Writing: Formal Letter to a council.

Dear Council,

I am writing to express my strong disagreement with the plan to close the local market. This
market is a vital part of our community, and its closure would have far-reaching negative
consequences.

First and foremost, the market provides a platform for local small businesses and artisans to
sell their products, supporting the local economy and providing jobs for members of the
community. It also offers residents a convenient location to purchase high-quality, locally-
grown and produced goods, which is not only more sustainable, but also supports the local
farming community.

In addition, the market is a social hub that brings people together and creates a sense of
community. It is a place where people can meet and interact with their neighbours, which is
especially important in today's digital age where face-to-face interactions are becoming
increasingly rare.

I urge the council to reconsider the decision to close the market and to instead support and
invest in this valuable community resource. The market is a vital part of our community that
should be preserved and nurtured.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely, Manuel.
