3) Discuss the ways of taking body temperature and pulse rate.
there arefour ways in taking body temperature, consider the following Oral Temperature –

onlyrecommended for adults and children ages six years and older.

 Rectally (in the anus) – rectal temperatures are not recommended for childrenyounger than six
years or anyone that cannot hold the thermometer in the mouth.
 Auxiliary (under the armpit) – auxiliary temperatures are less accurate and about1°c lower than
oral. Place the thermometer in the armpit and have the child cross his/herarm across the chest and
hold his/her opposite upper arm.
 Electric thermometer – they are quite accurate but some are expensive.Temperature strips are
convenient but should only be used to measure auxiliary (armpittemperature)
As the heart pushes blood through the arteries, it presses firmly on the arteries in certain parts of thebody
near the surface of the skin and feels a heartbeat. The pulse is on the side of the neck, inside the elbow,or on
the wrist. For most people, the easiest way to get a pulse is on your wrist. When using the lower
neck, becareful not to press too hard and do not press the pulses on both sides of the lowerneck at the same
timeso as not to block blood flow to the brain. When measuring pulse rate:

 Count the pulse after the person has been sitting or resting quietly for 5-10 minutes.
 Place 2 fingers gently against the wrist; don’t use your thumb.
 If it is hard to feel the pulse in the wrist, locate the carotid artery in the neck, just to either side of
thewindpipe. Press gently.
 Count the beat for 39 seconds, and then double the results for beats per minute.

4) Explain drug abuse and its prevention measures.

Drug abuse is the continuous misuse of any substance, licit, illicit which results to changes in an individuals
physical, mental or behavioral condition.

Drug abuse exists when a person continually uses a drug other than its intended purpose. This continued use
can lead to drug dependence, a state of physical and psychological dependence or both on a dangerous drug.

Here are top 6 ways to prevent drug addiction

1. Understand how addiction develops.

Let’s agree, you wouldn’t wish to take a drug and end up being an addict. It starts as fun, and that’s how it
develops. In teens, for instance, they may try out cigarettes, inhalants, and alcohol just to feel relaxed or for
curiosity.

The person begins to use the drug regularly without knowing where it could lead them. You may start
creating opportunities to use the drug. This may result in conflicts with people closer to you. It reaches a
point where you’re finding it difficult to carry out your regular daily responsibilities without the influence
of the substance. At this stage, you may experience several health changes such as loss of weight, gum
disease, and other problems.

2. Avoid peer pressure

7
Honestly, standing for what you believe when everyone else is doing something different is the hardest test
ever. It’s not only hard for teens but for adults too. In drug abuse, peer pressure is the major cause of
substance use.

A person’s desire to fit in a peer group is what encourages the person to use a substance. Research has
shown that most people who began using drugs at a tender age were introduced by friends. Members of
these peer groups often see the non-drug users as defiant.

3. Find the support you need.

If you feel that you have paranoia, depression, anxiety or other mental problems, you should seek social
communities or spiritual organizations that can help you eliminate the negative emotions and behaviors in a
healthy life-affirming manner. The problem with using drugs with mental disorders is that they only make
your problem worsen.

4. Deal with life pressures.

With the busy and stressing world, we’re living in, people feel like getting a reward at the end of the day is
a good thing to do. Well, having a reward for a day well spent is not a problem, rewarding yourself with a
drug is. Drugs only make life more stressful but most people come to realize this when it has turned sour.

5. Seek counseling.

A good counselor will assist you to overcome your addiction. They’ll find out what triggers your behavior
and work out on the triggers. They’ll also advise you on how to prevent a relapse in the best way possible.

6. Distract yourself from taking drugs.

When you want to avoid something uncomfortable like drug use, you desire to distract yourself from doing
it. If drug use has become a pattern for you for a while now, you feel like stopping but you can’t which is an
addiction. You can try distracting yourself by shifting your attention. It’s healthier to acknowledge and let
go of these negative feeling.

5) What are the Prohibit Acts including fines and penalties of RA 9165.

Unlawful Acts and Penalties of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act Of 2002 (RA 9165)

6) Make a narrative report with your experiences during this time of pandemic due to COVID
19;

A. Challenges

COVID-19 has rapidly affected our day to day life, businesses, disrupted the world trade
and movements. Identification of the disease at an early stage is vital to control the spread
of the virus because it very rapidly spreads from person to person. Most of the countries
have slowed down their manufacturing of the products. The various industries and sectors
are affected by the cause of this disease; these include the pharmaceuticals industry, solar
power sector, tourism, Information and electronics industry. This virus creates significant
knock-on effects on the daily life of citizens, as well as about the global economy.

B. Coping mechanism

My first week was not difficult; I easily adjusted because instead of getting up early, I started
getting up late; no school meant I had the entire day to myself and could do whatever I pleased,
which I did. I like to watch videos on YouTube, play video games, read books, and sleep a lot. It
was a great time. I didn't feel scared in the least.

C. Advantages
you don’t need to woke up early and pack your things every time you go to school, all need to do is
to sit and relax in every discussion and you don’t need to pressure yourself every day. It is in favor
for me this kind of situation because I’m able to do the things I want even travelling because its not
face to face classes. Instead of studying I only spend my time in watching tiktok and other things
that make me feel happy.

D. Disadvantages
the disadvantage is that you are not able to meet new friends and it is limited for you to go outside
because of the curfew. We all know that we are here in country that internet connection is very slow
so that you will not be able to attend online classes. It's also difficult to ensure that I won't become
infected with the virustoo. Being unaware of who has been infected is similar to suspecting
everyone who could be involved in a crime.
