Pros and Cons of Following Organizational Goals

Among the advantages of following organizational goals include its ability to provide a

standard that can be used to evaluate an organization's performance. Secondly, the objectives

provide legality for the employees to engage in given actions that align with an organization's

goals, acting as a justification of decisions and actions. Thirdly, the knowledge of organizational

goals helps in the division of work in various groups and departments, helping in attaining focus

and attaining the final goal. The work division also describes the step-by-step procedure of doing

given tasks, hence complementing their efforts. They also provide insights into the character and

nature of an organization (Gagné, 2018). The disadvantages of not following the company goals

lead to various failures to achieve the set objectives. Inability to follow goals leads to loss of

focus of employee's activities, leading to the organizations' loss of focus. Besides that, managers

will not assess the staff's contribution to the company, and the lack of following goals leads to

the loss of an organization's tracking progress (Gagné, 2018).
