Extract from Geotechnical Study Report:

1) Chloride content is 0.86% (max). From past experience in Gulf region, the exposure category
fails under C2 of AC-318-19. Which corresponds to:

w/cm = 0.4

fc’=35 MPa

cement = 370 kg/m3

OR

2) However, as per EN206 the site falls under category XS1.

It cannot be XS2 as groundwater level as per Geotech report is not encountered within 15m
depth.
As per EN206. The XS1 the concrete protection is the following:

w/cm = 0.5

fc’=30 MPa

cement = 300 kg/m3

CONCLUSION:

Water cement ratio : 0.4

Minimum compressive strength (fc’), normal weight and lightweight concrete, MPa : 35
(cylindrical )

Type of cement : Type V OPC (as per ASTM C150)+ pozzolana /silica fume as per CL No
R.19.3.2 of ACI318-14

Admixtures : To be checked with AMEA Power/DNV practice (as per experience ACWA it was
not allowed to use admixture)

Concrete Surface protection: Minimum protection like 2 coats of bitumen minimum

Cement = 370 kg/m3

Rebar shall be epoxy coated Rebar to take care of further corrosion protection.
