LESSON 3: The Foundational Principles of Morality and You

The set of rules that make it possible for people to live together in groups is
referred to as morality. It is what societies consider to be "acceptable" and "right." On
the other hand, morality laws that can be determined by human reason are referred to
as natural law.
In four ways of describing Good Moral Character, being fully human indicates
that you have realized a significant portion of your human potential; being a loving
person indicates that you are caring for yourself, other people, and God in an unselfish
and mature manner. Being morally mature means that you have reached a level of
emotional, social, mental, and spiritual development that is appropriate for your
developmental stage. Being virtuous means that you have developed good habits and
attitudes and that you consistently practice them in your daily life. In a nutshell, you
are on the right path if you strive to reach your full potential, if you love and care for
yourself and allow this love to flow to others, if you lead a virtuous life, and if you
also advance in your intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and social lives as you get
older. When our behavior is in line with our inherent nature, it is moral. When we do
something that goes against our human nature, it is immoral. We are superior to the
beast due to our free will and intellect. You are expected to have a good moral
character as a teacher. When you are mature, loving, virtuous, and human, you have
good moral character.
I am now in a position to draw a conclusion about what it really means for
people to do good and avoid bad things. It entails selecting a morally acceptable
object for the sake of a morally acceptable goal.
