module 1.

Being a good citizen is what every person in any country should

strive to be. As a Filipino citizen, It is very important to learn about the
good citizenship practices in my country. In this lesson, I have learned
that being a good citizen is not just about obedience to laws but it
involves the ability to think critically and be willing to show respect to
everyone. As citizens, we should do what is best for us and our country.

In this lesson, I have learned that as citizens we have responsibilities,

duties and obligations in our community. Some of these responsibilities
includes being loyal to the Republic, defending the State, contributing
to the development and welfare of the State, upholding the
constitution and obey the laws, contributing with duly constituted
authorities, exercising rights responsibly and with due regard for the
rights of others, engaging in gainful work, and to register and vote.
Every country has the goal to build a peaceful and harmonious society
where all residents should be treated equally.

To be good citizens, we must respect other people's rights and be

accountable for our actions. I have also learned that we can become
good citizens by living in accordance with good citizenship values such
as; Faith in God, patriotism, respect, truth, peace, equality and many
more. These good citizen values are traits that every person should
have to carry out their responsibility as a member of the state. These
values don’t just benefit the nation but also we as an individual.
