Electronic Service Tool (EST) FAQ

Error Message: “EST error code 6345 - When launching EST, an error appears: “Error
0x8004103D - IDispatch error #3645 Unable to initialize security for component located
at C:\PROGRA~1\CATERP~1\etech.exe - License Error 215|ComGateway.cpp(572) Comet.
Gateway.1”, How do i fix this?”

Please perform the following steps:

1. IMPORTANT: Make sure the user has Administrator rights on the


computer. If the user has Power User rights only, the Crypkey License service
will not install properly.
2. Check if CRYPSERV.exe is running in Processes:
o Ctrl Alt Del and select Task Manager and click Processes tab.
o Check that CRYPSERV.EXE is running.
o If not, install crypkey service:
» Go to Start | Run.
» Type Setup _ ck.exe and click OK.
NOTE: If you receive an “Internal error” message, completely uninstall EST
by following the steps laid out in the FAQ ‘How do I uninstall the EST
program’ and reinstall.
» Try to launch EST again.
3. Double-click My Computer.
4. Go to Tools | Folder Options | View.
5. Select “Show hidden files and folders”
option.
6. Uncheck “Hide extensions for known
file types” checkbox.
7. Uncheck “Hide protected operating
system files” checkbox.

8. If EST is installed, please go to C:\Program Files\TIPSS\Electronic Service


Tool and delete the following keys: etech.41s, etech.key, etech.rst, etech.ent
9. Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 (if using Windows XP) or C:\WINNT\
system32 (if using Windows 2000) and delete the following key: esnecil.ind
10. Try to launch EST again.
11. If the above does not resolve the issue, uninstall/reinstall Crypkey:
o Go to Start | Run.
o Type Setup _ ck.exe /u and click OK.
o NOTE: add a space in between exe(add space here)/u
o After completed, type Setup _ ck.exe and click OK.
o Try to launch EST again.
12. If the above does not resolve the issue, please try the following:
o Please go to the following FTP site: ftp://eb1z:3lpm2@65.223.52.26
» User id: eb1z
» Password: h3lpm3
» Host: 65.223.52.26
o Drag and drop Crypkey5 Install Files.zip to the desktop.
o Double-click to unzip the files.
o Double-click on the FixCrypkey.bat to install.
o Try to launch EST again.
