Research Methodology
Introduction

This section aims to offer a detailed description of the research procedures and

methodology used in the study. The research approach and design are explained in the next

section. Following that, a debate of their ability to meet the dissertation's aims and objectives

will occur. After that, the author goes through the sample size and sampling process used and the

data collection tools used. Finally, the study concludes with a summary of quantitative statistical

test findings.

Research- or project- Design

The interpretive technique was used to conduct the qualitative research for this

dissertation. According to the authors Chawla and Sodhi (2011), interpretivism is a method in

which researchers use secondary sources to synthesize qualitative content rather than

quantitative. He also underlines that these facts are ethereal and hard to quantify, which is one of

the hallmarks of interpretivism. The economy, society, and even culture are all places where

these elements may be found. Because the author chose the interpretive approach over the

positivist and pragmatic approaches for this research because of abstract, non-quantifiable

variables such as "how helpful machine learning has been in enhancing healthcare security,"

comparing traditional data storage with cloud data, and analyzing whether machine learning

techniques can have a positive influence in healthcare were investigated. Because the

relationships between these components cannot be specified (measured), interpretivism is

considered to be the most effective method in this situation. It is anticipated that this study,

which will employ a qualitative research technique, will generate no numerical or quantitative

data. As a result of the necessity to examine the interactions between a large number of

components, adopting a qualitative research approach was quite beneficial in this investigation.

Interviews and open-ended discourse are employed in the study to gather additional information

since they provide a more detailed image of a subject matter. Because he was looking for the

truth in both the public and private healthcare sectors, the researcher had to use triangulation in

this study to get the most accurate results. Employees who utilize machine learning to secure

patient data should be interrogated and given surveys to complete.

Sampling Procedures

Because of the nature of this research, the author was required to analyze two different

groups of volunteers. A stratified sample method was employed to study the relationships

between sub-groups (Singh, Y. K., 2006). The interviews were restricted to a subset of the entire

population, which resulted in forming a distinct group. In addition, it was necessary to employ

variables such as the participants' affiliation with a corporation or the public health sector to

reduce the participant selection further.

Executives from both companies were among those who took part in the initial round of

discussions. To contact the target audience, the researchers enlisted the assistance of four senior

managers and eight different staff members from five different healthcare facilities across the

United States. The author made an effort to include as many people from both the private and

public sectors as feasible in the sample while also ensuring that men and women were

represented equally. Everyone who took part in the study was contacted by email. The

questionnaires were also sent to them using the same method of communication. All of this

occurred over four weeks. Then, the four managers were interviewed using either the phone or

Skype. The researcher recorded and transcribed their conversations after they were selected at

random from the questionnaire sample. In total, there were six interviews conducted over one

month.

Data Collection

The participants were mostly communicated via email. It wasn't until then that the author

had amassed an extensive database of companies that met the author's research criteria. The

author chose smaller businesses in the hopes of acquiring access to employees more quickly and

with less effort, and he was successful. To begin, the writer called each firm to describe the

research's objectives and to obtain permission to conduct interviews with corporate leaders if

needed. The first contacts' job titles have been omitted for confidentiality reasons, even though

their positions do not influence the study because they are not actively participating. Managers

occasionally distributed surveys to their employees, but more frequently than not, the author

emailed the questions directly to the respondents. The questionnaires were distributed and

completed during four weeks. After that, interviews were conducted over the phone or by Skype,

depending on the participants' preferences. As a consequence, the researcher transcribed and

recorded them.

Data Organization Plan

Questionnaires: The author produced two separate questionnaires and two brief interview scripts

for this study. The questionnaire for the management of the firms comprised ten open-ended

questions focusing on the business success of their employees. Participants were asked a range of

demographic questions, including their age and gender and questions about their work

experience, particular job responsibilities, and other characteristics. The questions were divided

into smaller groups and tackled from the managers' perspective to make the research's main aims

more comprehensible.

Interviews: There are five open-ended questions in each group's interview scripts. The questions

presented to the employees were meant to illustrate their experience as receivers of machine

learning's benefits in boosting healthcare security.
