SUBIECT : 2014 COMMEMORATION AND CETEBRATION OF THE BIRTH

OF FRANCISCO'BAI^A.GTAS' BALTAZAR

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 964, series of. 1997, the 226d' Commemoration and
Celebration of the Birth of Francisco "Balagtas" Baltazar on the 2"d day of April, 2014 is
spearheaded by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino'' GfW$.

Bannered by the theme "Lakbay Balagta{, the event is composed of a series of

activities commencing with an Apening Program to be held in Pandacan, Manila, and
subsequently followed by a tour to Balagtas, Bulacan and Orion, Bataan The activities
include: a) Floral Offering; b) Presentation of Francisco Balagtas Commemorative Works;
and c) Gawad Francisco Balagtas Recognition and Awarding Ceremony.

Relative to the above, all Local Chief Executives are hereby encouraged to advise
the students and teachers in the academe to participate in the said commemorative event.

For related information and inquiries, all concerned are advised to coordinate
directly witll. Mr. Virgilio S. A|mario, Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, Malacafiang,
Manila.

All
DILG Regional Directors and the ARMM Regional Governor are hereby
directed to cause the widest dissemination of this Circular, to local govenments within
their areas of responsibilities, and to conduct similar activities in their respective regional
offices.
