Job description
PhD in additive manufacturing of structural steels – University of British Columbia Okanagan School of Engineering
Starting Date: Sep 1, 2022 or Jan. 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Stipend: Starting at $25,000 CAD/year.

Prof. Michael Benoit and Prof. Lisa Tobber are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join their research groups as a
PhD student at the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO) School of Engineering. We are seeking to develop novel
applications of additive manufacturing (3D printing) in the field of structural engineering. Consequently, candidates should have
a background in additive manufacturing, materials science and engineering, metallurgy, welding & joining, advanced
manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and excellent
communication skills.
