They say that “good fortune favors preparation”. Somehow, being an educator, a teacher does
not consider producing responsible and productive students simply as a result of fortune. It is an
outstanding and notable accomplishment attributed by guarantee effort and an undisputable
competence of the teacher. By no means, coupled with these is exercise of good preparation before you
became a professional teacher. You took a four-year educational course and have to pass the LET. These
are just some of the preparations and it does not end up here. When you are on the field of teaching,
preparation is already linked with your work and actually became part of your daily routine.

Good preparation is imperative if a teacher wants to be effective in his teaching. But just what
are involved in good preparation?

Plan Ahead. Planning ahead involves analyzing students’ interest. How the students be fond of a
certain topic depends upon how the teacher introduces it. What available materials or resources can be
used to draw student’s attention to the lesson? How about utilizing advance technology and create
animated videos to incite student’s fascination or learning? Of course, planning entails a great of effort
sacrifice and hard work. But it is important to note that “panning is as natural to the process of success
as its absence is the process of failure”.

Have an objective. In the lesson plans one of the most important parts there is the objectives of
the lesson. Why it is important? It is especially important so that the teacher will know where his
discussions are heading to. Aside from the objectives of the lesson, a teacher must have a few minutes
to ponder on the things he wants for the students to achieve. His objectives will keep him on the move
and guides him to teach with “heart and soul”.

Teacher’s goal. Of course the goal of a teacher is associated with the government’s goal of
alleviating poverty through educating young Filipino people. It is then vital for the teacher to let the
students the natural love for learning and let education shapes them to become responsible members of
the society.

Taking time to prepare for effective teaching is well worth the effort. Teacher’s joy will be
increased and certainly enjoys the privilege of assisting young Filipinos on the road to success.
