IV. LEARNING PHASES AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES

I. Introduction (Time Frame: Day 1)
In this lesson you will learn about the tools and materials needed in installing telephone terminal cabinet.

The Cabinet, according to the Philippine Electrical Code must have doors and are thus distinguished from large boxes
with covers consisting of plates attached with screws and bolts. The Philippine Electrical Code requires that all boxes used to
enclose operating apparatus, i.e., Apparatus having moving parts or requiring inspection or attention

Materials, tools and equipment needed for the installation of telephone terminal cabinet:
1. claw hammer (head weight: 10 02 materials: head: steel shaft: fiberglass
2. lineman’s pliers (size 5 to 10 inches’ material: steel)
3. long nose pliers (size 4 to 7 inches)
4. level bar (size: 22 inches, material: aluminum
5. try square (size: blade 6 to 12 inches’ stock 4 to 8 inches’ material: blade steel
6. pull push steel tape (size 3 to 16 feet material: tape, steel)
7. screw driver (size 3 to 10 inches’ material: handle plastic)
8. chalk line reel (size 18 to 100 feet material: cotton, plastic)
9. plumb bob (size: weight 4lbs. material: brass)
10.cross cut saw (size: 60 cm material: hard steel)
11.cold chisel (size: length 5 to 8 inches’ material: steel)
12.telephone terminal cabinet- to enclosed telephone system
