Used to tell a person what someone else said

Use the word ‘said’ to report statements


Use the phrase ‘told…to’ to report commands
Use the phrase ‘asked…to’ to report a request
Use the phrases ‘asked if’ or ‘whether’ to report questions.

Remember to:
Remove the double quotations,
Change the present main verb to the past tense
Change the pronouns if needed.
