- Occasions you spend time together (meals, cultural programmes, household chores, commuting,
trips, going out, etc.)
For me Christmas is the greatest family festival, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Two or three weeks before Christmas we send Christmas cards to our relatives and friends
whising them a merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Of course, we get a lot of them, too
and giving gifts to each other
On Easter Sunday we have ham and hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Children get some small
presents and chocolate, of course: chocolate bunnies and chocholate lambs. Lunch is a big
meal, too: we usually have chicken soup, pork chop with potatoes or rice and salad.
My birthday is on the 24st of March. My family and friends never forget about it. Sometimes
I give a small party and invite some of my classmates to it.
Furthermore my family organizes a metting where we can meet with those family members
which are rarely seen
-General remarks on family issues (having no/only one/plenty of kids, generations living together,
what an ideal family and their common programmes look like, etc.)
as i mentioned before i don’t have any sibling but my parents wanted and 1-2 more would be
good for me because sometimes i fell lonely and bored too.
i only live with my parents
when we go to a foreign country mostly once in a year (close neighbouring countries like
Slowakia or Austria are exceptions) which seem a great way to learn more of a country but
when we go there we are going from museums to museums which are so boring and the only
thing close to the end of the programmes of the relief what i feel after we finally finished
with everythings but next day it repeats itself
to be honest i don’t have so many friends because i am so introvert, the only amount of
friend that i have is like 2-3
but there’s one who is actually the best of the best
my best friend lives in Győr too
he is 17 years old
he currently attending to Jedlik secondary school
i have met my current best friend in elementary school in our 3th year and we became best
friends in our 5 th year
we like each other because we could share experiences abour what are we up to but
nowadays we can’t meet as widely as we used to because he went to a different school
in the old days we were classmates so we talked a lot every day but after we changed schools
we only meet sometimes
nowadays we try to keep touch in phone calls and messaging to each other
- What you argue about, what you disagree in, particular conflicts you have had
there no friendship which contains zero arguements
for exmaple we not agree an everything, in rare cases there some things what he don’t like
and protects his own opinion which can lead us to a small arguement
3. Festivals
- Classification of special occasions: family/national/religious/school/Hungarian/foreign celebrations
and special days
- Mid-term plans: for the next one and a half year, till you graduate from grammar school
- How and when you decided what to specialise in, what university to apply for, what to be when you
grow up
- Other wishes: places you want to visit, activities you want to try, people you want to keep in touch
with/work with,
- Your current/previous career plans, reasons why you chose that particular job, who inspired you
- What you don’t like about it, how you would change it
the school has 2 buildings, an old and a new one, there’s a pharmacy, church, monostery
belonging tot he complex
the church at the pharmacy was built in Baroque style
it is a catholic school
there’s a special subject called religion and we have it twice in a week
in Hungary the first school where you must attend is primary school or Elementary are the
first one
you start them at 6 or 7 years old
elementary school lasts for 8 years but you can leave elementary school at the 4th or the 6th
year and you can start your secondary grammar school.
you can start them at the age of 11-12, 13-14 or 15-16 years old
and you can leave school at the age of 16 if you just don’t want to study more and go to work
i chose Humanity subjects (Literature and History) for my 11-12th year because I would like t
apply to law classes later in university, in the other hand I sucked enough in some science
subject, except geography which are actually a great one for me at least
finally I am glad that these useless science subject finally disappeared
people can take up extra classes from a huge variety like sports/study fields/dance/film club
and way more than you could except buti t variest hat how many extra classes does a school
provide for students
my only ectra activity what i am currently doing is taking up geography classes which can
help me tod o my final exam in the end of this schoolyear
- Different methods and ways to learn a foreign language in and out of school
Nowadays watching films is more popular than reading. Instead of reading, people prefer
watching TV or films, especially teenagers.
I think compulsory reading are not terrible because people don’t really want to read so much
books back in the old days
Everyone has their opinions of different compulsories like me who don’t like those which
were very long or those which describes a single 5 min action in 50 pages
As I mentioned compulsory readings are not bad buti t also depends on how hard will the
test will be of the reading too
If you read the same film and book, there can be big differences. It’s also better to read the
book first, because you can imagine the characters
If you watch the film first, the characters are given
I like both watching films and reading books, but I prefer reading. I like science fiction books,
especially from the Star Wars universe. I collect these kinds of books. I think they’re great
I also like films. It’s good to sit down in front of the TV with friends and watch a good comedy
and laugh your head off
- Theatre: comparison of genres, describing why a visit to the theatre can be special
farm animals: pig, cow, chicken, horse, sheep, goat, roaster, goose, ox, mule, donkey, duck
domestic animals: dog, cat, guinea pig, horse, sheep, mice
animals live in hungary: deers, foxes, squirrels, hares, falcons, geese, mammals, wolves,
insects, eagles, wild boars
most common enviromental problems in Hungary are: acid rain, deforestation, waste
management, water pollution, noise pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, local industry
problems, high CO2, smoke, traffic jams, green problems, hot summer weather
possible solutions would be reduce amount of toxic chemicels which are thrown to the
enviroment, give higher fines for factories who pollute the enviroment too much
In spring the weather is very changeable and sometimes quite unpredictable: thennights are
cold but during the day you can feel the warmth of the sun and enjoy the mild winds. It can
rain a lot too, so it is not at all easy to choose the right clothing to wear.
The summers are usually warm, sunny and dry, the sky is clear, although sometimes heavy
showers or thunderstorms can occur at the end of the day. In summer daytime temperatures
reach 20-25°C, but sometimes quite higher, 30°C or more. July is the warmest month with an
average temperature of 22°C. In the past years we had some serious heatwaves, which were
really unpleasant for everyone, especially the elderly, the ill and the very young. You couldn’t
find a cool spot as the water of all the rivers and lakes got warm. Our agriculture suffered
serious losses because of water shortage and drought.
Until November autumn can be lovely with bright sunny days and relatively high average
temperatures. The nights can be chilly just like in spring, but then you can experience mild
weather during the day. Mists and nasty fogs may occur early in the morning, which can
cause poor visibility and traffic problems.
The winters in Hungary are fairly cold. January is the coldest month with daytime
temperatures usually around zero, but in some cases winter months can be very cold with
temperatures far below zero and strong, cold northeasterly winds, especially in the
mountainous regions. Heavy snowfall or even terrible snowstorms are also possible. Cold
winters may result in financial difficulties for a lot of people because heating is quite
expensive in Hungary. It might also be difficult for the state to provide every household with
the necessary quantity of energy as Hungary depends on Russia for much of its natural gas
imports.
Most of the time I like to know what kind of weather to expect, so I usually check the
weather forecast on the Internet
there are a lot of maps showing the density of smog, the quantity of snow, giving information
on winds, etc
due to modern technology forecasts are quite reliable nowadays and we can be given real
time information for example through webcams if we are interested in it.
- Methods of payment
- Shopping facilities you use around your school/on the way to school
- Your experience in online shopping
18. Services
- Short description of a few sports/entertainment facilities: gyms, cinemas, exit rooms,
amusement/theme/adventure
parks, etc.
- Mentioning a few examples of catering industry: restaurants, pubs, hotels, hostels, etc.
- THE MOST IMPORTANT: describing financial services: banks, insurance companies, currency
exchange offices
I think doing sports makes us fitter and less tired during the day
We can also develop greater endurance and strength
All these make us more resistant to illnesses
Others like doing individual sports like jogging, swimming or skiing.
A lot of people go to the gym regularly, they work out, do aerobics or zumba.
If you go to the gym with friends it’s fun and it’s easier to stick to the training plan
you always should prepare with your subject the previus day(s) before exams are c oming so
you will fell a bit more relieved
try not to contact disturbing people
A regular daily routine may give you the balance in your life
Getting up and going to bed at the same time means that you can get enough sleep. It fills
you with energy to face the challenges of the next day
You shouldn’t spend time in front of the TV or the computer screen before going to sleep, as
these activities won’t relax you. You ought to read a book or a magazine instead
As for me, I’m not a couch potato at all. I like doing sports in my freetime I do/play/go……..ing
I mostly do gym sports about 4-6 times a week
Going out with friends or going to the cinema or theatre are also part of my pastime activities
Eating in a healthy way is also important for me
Although I sometimes have junk food, I try to eat fruit and vegetables every day, that way, I
hope I can stay in shape and I can avoid diseases.
most common minor health problems: cuts, bruises, aches/pains, scars, rashes, sprains,

- How injuries happen (traffic, household, sports, etc. accidents), what to do in emergency
- Reasons to get in hospital, personal experience (when you/your relative got treatment in hospital)
People usually go to hospital when they have something not alright with their body or health
In Hungary I can’t say that hospitals are those places where you go and get out quickly
When you don’t ask an exact appointment which is not so uncommon, you have to wait long
hours to get there which can kill you inside.
But after those painful hours what you had to wait to get there you will feel much better
when you actually get there.
Doctors are ususally nice with you and try their bests and you will get everything what you
need from them.
- Environmental impact
- Your preferences, your ideas for the ways of future development, how you imagine the future of
transport
22. Travelling
- Comparing different means of transport when going on holiday
23. Sports, exercise, various games and championships, favourite athletes and teams
- Classification of sports: team, individual, amateur, professional, winter, water, etc.
A lot of people prefer doing team sports, like football, volleyball and basketball
These kinds of sports teach you to fight for each other.
there are 2 types of sport: team and individual sports, both of them are good choices and
have so many advantages and of ourse disadvantages too
disadvantages:
if you team loses, you can be under high pressure
can make enemies
if you mess up something you mess up for your whole team
pay lots of attention to others
selfish/rude teammates
it can be really stressful
you can’t always do the sport when you want
you can’t concentrate a lot on yourself
you can only count on yourself
rivalry among teammates
there are compulsory sports in school and you have to take up one if you don’t give a
certification of doing an extracurriculum sport by your own
there are many sports at our school like: football, basketball, swimming
- Sports events: different types, the most famous ones, mass sports events, business and sports
there are many sport events too like European and World Champions
the most famous one what everybody loves watching is football of course
also every sport has huge business behind them maybe because people keep betting on
which team will score points or win
