Background of the Study

Objectives of the Study
The main purpose of this study is to determine the perception of grade 12

students of Maripipi National Vocational School in implementing mandatory ROTC in

college that may help them be mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for

mandatory ROTC in college. This study seeks to answer the following questions.

1. What is the perception of grade 12 students of Marippi National Vocational

School in implementing mandatory ROTC in college?

2. Are they mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for ROTC in

college?

3. How will the results of this study affect the student’s readiness for ROTC?

Hypothesis of the Study

Grade 12 student’s perception towards the implementation of mandatory

ROTC in college is likely to be influenced by various factors such as their prior

experience in military training, their understanding of the purpose of ROTC, and their

personal beliefs values towards military service. Students who have had prior military

training may view ROTC more positively compared to those who have no previous

experience. Furthermore, students who have a strong sense of duty and patriotism

may also view ROTC more favourably. On the other hand, those who value personal

autonomy and freedom of choice may have a negative perception towards

mandatory ROTC in college. Overall, it is hypothesized that the perception of grade

12 students towards mandatory ROTC in college will vary and will be influenced by a

combination of individual, social, and cultural factors.
