A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of media and information
Literacy (MIL) and MIL related concepts.
B. Performance Standards The learner organizes a creative and interactive symposium for the
community focusing on being a media and information literate individual.
C. Most Essential Learning Create a campaign ad to combat digital divide, addiction, and bullying.

D. Learning Competencies At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
a) Define digital divide, addiction, and bullying;
b) Discuss current issues about digital divide, computer addiction and
cyber bullying and how to address these situations; and
c) Develop a campaign ad to combat digital divide, computer addiction

Digital divide pertains to the social and economic imbalance of


the opportunities to access to, use of or knowledge of information
and communication technology (ICTs). It is referring to a gap
between sectors in the community who can access, has the skills
and has desire to the internet and those who cannot.
The divides arise due to lack of knowledge on how to manipulate
technology and understanding of its benefits as well and some
cannot afford to access because the income is low.

2. COMPUTER ADDICTION
Next is the presentation of another video clip on Internet Addiction
and it will be followed by processing questions.

Processing Questions:

 What are the possible effects of Internet Addiction?

After the students shared their answers, the teacher will discuss about
Addiction and its effects.

COMPUTER ADDICTION
Computer Addiction means the inability to control the desire of using
the technology (like computers, smartphones and internet) or an extreme
use of the computer which makes the person uneasy or anxiety in the
absence of the gadgets. Wherein the daily routine in life like work, eating
or sleep are affected that could lead to social problem, change in behavior,
relationships and though process. The three reason why computer
addiction exist are depression, loneliness and social acceptance where
young people commonly experience.

Bullying
It is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and
repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. It can take the
form of physical, contact, words, or more subtle actions.

Formative Assessment #3 GROUP ACTIVITY
The class will be grouped into four. Each group will create a Campaign Ad
based on the assigned topic to them. The main objective of the Ad
Campaign is to combat the problems of digital divide, computer addiction
and cyber bullying.

1. Taylor is a Grade 11 Senior High School student. Because of the


present pandemic, she spends most of her allowance loading her
mobile phone for data usage to download files for her school project.
Unfortunately, she consumes most of her mobile data streaming over
Netflix, YouTube, and Facebook for 8-10 hours in a day, forgetting
about the sole purpose of loading her mobile phone. When her mother
scolds her, she would fight back and denies the accusations.

2. Jin lives at an almost secluded place in a province where mobile


reception is scarce. Aside from this, his mobile phone is also outdated
and needs to be replaced to have better access to download the files he
needs for his research.

3. Jenny is a vivacious girl with a fair complexion and long black hair.
She loves to express herself through dancing, pop, and jazz. To move
freely, she wears minimal clothing due to the heat in the dance studio.
Some girls would be envious of her because she is also a graceful
dancer. One day, she found her belongings scattered on the floor and
her mobile phone missing before going home. The next day, some of
her private photos were uploaded on websites containing ridiculous
and vulgar captions. Right then, she knew that her social media
account was hacked, so she immediately filed a report to track down
the perpetrators.
