EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Erasya Brand Industry is a local company that operates by the founder of Syafiqah Bahri from
Kelantan. Erasya has been in the market for 4 years that starting from an online platform and
the company which she has worked on has been recognize by all the Malaysia citizen because
of the main product that she has produced which is Melted Chokies. Melted Chokies is a butter
cookie that is coated with a melted chocolate with a peanut sprinkled on top of it. The
uniqueness of the product is that the company is producing a high quality of cookies with a large
quantity of melted chocolate that poured on the cookies. Erasya has offer a reasonable price to
customer to attract them by buying the product with a high quality and quantity that can satisfy
the needs of the customer. Melted Chokies does not only can be eat in a daily basis, but the
cookie can be served in a special season such as Aidilfitri festive to serve to the guests. As a
Muslim, Halal certificate is a main priority in choosing a food to be eat and Erasya Brand
Industry has been certified by Halal JAKIM and that can be one of the reasons that Muslim
people can enjoy this cookie without worry.

3.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 2019, Erasya Brand Industry has been introduced to people that focused on selling a Melted
Chokies which is a butter cookie with a melted chocolate and sprinkled peanut on top of the
cookies. I have been a dropship to this company since April 2022 that I know about the
existence of the company through Syafiqah itself and the reason I chose to be dropship of this
company is because the drop shipping does not require a high capital and it is more convenient
for me to do an online business.

The reason I chose Erasya Brand Industry as my business is because the company has
been around long enough in the market, and I believe that the company is strong enough to
face a challenge in the business world especially in the unprecedented circumstances such as
Pandemic Covid-19. It is also because I want to help my family in a financial situation especially
in Pandemic that need to use a lot of money to be prepared for any emergencies and I found
that the founder of the brand is very supportive in giving a guideline to all the agents, stokist and
dropship to be successful in the business along with achieving a high profit. I’m starting this
business through online platform which is Instagram as my target market is from teenagers to
middle aged people that likes a sweet food and most of them will search for a dessert on
Instagram. Since that, I am expanding my target customer to TikTok and Facebook apps
because TikTok and Facebook have more users than Instagram and that will give a benefit for
me to reach more customer.

Other than that, I am also placing the product for sale in the store at Flourlush Bakery
and Café, Beranang, Selangor. The starting price of the cookies is RM 23 excluding postage
and delivery fee that is affordable for people to buy that have a high quality of food and a large
amount of melted chocolate. Most people that buy these cookies from us is because of the
quantity of chocolate that we provide is much more than any other brand. The company always
make sure that they will provide the same quantity of cookies and chocolate in every jar to avoid
customer dissatisfaction.

1. Cost and profit for one jar of Melted Chokies:

Packaging (Jar, box, bubble wrap and paper bag) = RM 4


Sticker label = RM 0.30
Postage Cost = RM 8
Total cost = RM 12.30

Selling Price for one jar of Melted Chokies = RM 23

Net profit = Selling price – Total cost


= RM 23 – RM 12.30
= RM 10.70

Selling price for one jar of Melted Chokies = RM 23
Sales = 120 units X RM 23 = RM 2,760

Quantity = 120 jars


Cost per unit = RM 12.30

Net profit of Melted Chokies = Sales – Total cost


= RM 2,760 – RM 1,476

1) Key Partners

Key Partners are crucial to the Business Model Canvas because they provide the
assistance an organization needs to carry out its value propositions and my key partners is
a supplier from the agent of Erasya Brand Industry as I am buying the product from agent to
be deliver to my customer. This relationship needs to have in a good term to have a smooth
process in dealing this business. Other than that, my business also having a delivery service
as my key partners that can facilitate in delivering the product to the customer. Delivery
service that I am using is a J&T Express as many of my consumer is giving full trust to them
because they always make the delivery quickly.

2) Key Activities

When delivering a value proposition to clients, key activities are the essential tasks that
must be complete, and key activities that I am practicing is a marketing process. Marketing
is important for the on-going production of the business because awareness from the people
around us is one of the causes that people is still buying our product. Without the spreading
words about our product, people will not be buying the product because they do not know
the existence of the company. For this business model canvas, I am using social media
such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to promote the product to our future customer.

3) Key Resources

Key Resources are necessary for every business plan in order for company's resources
enable it to develop and offer a value proposition, reach markets, keep up connections with
customer segments, and generate income. Key resources for my business are an
intellectual which is having a strong brand for people to recognize the existence of the
company and make a purchase from it. Other than that, I am practicing a specialist
knowledge in this business because in order to have a good product, we need to have a
specialist knowledge about the product and in this context, I am refer to the specialist
knowledge about the product that I am selling in learning about the strategy of the business
from the main company itself.

4) Value Propositions

Value Proposition is the reason why customers turn to your company over another. Value
proposition for my business is giving a quick delivery to customer around my area or in
another state that can facilitate the customer to reach me whenever they want. Other than
that, my product also having a Halal certificate that recognized from JAKIM so that the
customer will not have to worry to consume this product and giving an affordable price is
also one of the value propositions that I am introduced in this business. Giving an affordable
price to all the group of income will facilitate them to purchase the Melted Chokies with a
high quantity and quality of the product.

5) Customer Relationship

Customer relationship is explaining the kinds of connections a business makes with target
consumer segments. In this business, I am using feedback from the customer to improve my
business if there is any deficiency in the process of making the product. Other than that,
good customer service is also one of the customer relationships that I am practicing having
a good customer satisfaction from the fast reply message to the customer without making
them wait any longer. Next, by sending out monthly message to the customer through email
can make the customer recognize about the product and it is one of the strategies to
strengthen the existing promotion to attract customer.

6) Channel

The corporation communicates their offer to certain customer segments through channels
and in this business, I am using a social media such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok in
promoting the product to people and I am also using WhatsApp to spread about the
awareness of the product to closest friends and family. Besides that, I am also placing the
product in a bakery store which is Flourlush Bakery to attract more people in buying the
Melted Chokies.

7) Customer Segments

Customer segments are the various groups of individuals and organizations that your
business wants to connect with and assist. My customer segment is a teenagers, middle-
aged woman, and middle-aged man. Most of the teenagers they like to eat sweet things
while the middle-aged people like to eat a dessert but not too sweet. Melted Chokies is
suitable for both group as the cookies is sweet but not too many sweet and the melted
chokies is full of melted chocolate and the cookie itself is having a chocolate chip. Most of
my customer is experiencing with product satisfaction from their purchase because of the
full of the content in a jar and the taste itself.

8) Cost Structure

Cost structure is defining the expenses incurred by a business throughout its operations and the
expenses that incurred in my business is a delivery cost, internet bills and transportation cost.
The delivery cost including the delivery to people that near to me and a postage cost while the
internet bills is a bill that include the bills in a month.

9) Revenue Stream

Revenue stream is a resource from which a business makes money through the sale of its
goods or services to clients. The revenue stream of my business is from the sale and cash
payment at the store as most of my customer is an online consumer and the people that live
near the bakery store can purchase the product at the store with the same prices.

5.0 EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

As I am running this business trough online platform and placing the item in the store, I do
sometimes encounter and experienced a lot of situations such as:

Rude attitudes by customer


- Some customers very rude to me when it comes in replying to their message as I am
sometimes too busy doing their postage so it will take time for me to reply to their
message in a short time and they will use a bad words to me and immediately cancel
their order.
- Some customers will viral the product that I sell and spread a bad words to people if I’m
doing a mistake by giving a wrong product to them.
- However, I will continue to respond to them professionally and with kindness, which
results in a favorable resolution.

Deliveries mistake
- I do sometimes have a mistake by delivering the product to different location that will end
up involve in cost of transportation or postage fee.
- However, I am so glad that certain customer did not mad at me and gives time to me to
fix my mistakes.

Receiving stock later than expected


- Headquarters of the company sometimes post out my stock late than I expect so it is
indirectly affecting my income as some of my customer need the item early and they will
cancel the order if I don’t have enough stock with me.

Receiving a gift from customer


- Sometimes I am receiving a gift from my customer such as food, souvenirs, and many
other things while I’m doing a delivery to them and some of my customer will pay extra
than they should as a sign of support to me.

6.0 CONCLUSION

Entrepreneurship is a process of planning, setting up, and managing a new company to make
money while carrying on financial risk while entrepreneur is a person who has an idea and tries
to develop a good or service that customers will purchase, together with a company to support
that endeavor. In this report, I have been highlighting about the process of business that I have
been facing since April 2022 and the happy and sad experience I need to face throughout the
time. The nine blocks of the business model canvas I have been explain is talking abut the
management tools that can facilitate the process of my business. All the blocks in business
model canvas are very important for a small business like me to have a smoothen process in
making a business and expecting a high profit. I am very thankful for this opportunity to finish
this assignment as this task really gives me more knowledge about business in depth and how
to deal with the challenges in a business world.
