Third Performance Task in English 9

What are some Filipinos positive traits, and how do these traits contributes to their success
in various fields?

An example of positive Filipino traits is Strong Work Ethic. Filipinos just happens to
work hard to earn money for a living. They tend to be hardworking amidst the difficulty on that
particular job. They just believe in “bahala na” which translates to “whatever happens, happens”.
It means do things whatever it takes just to be successful in life. With this mindset, people tends
to be successful not just in work but in life.

What are some negative traits that Filipinos are sometimes criticized for, and how do these
traits affect their personal relationships?

Filipino Time is one of the particular negative Filipino traits. Some just shrug it off
because it has been done also by others. But this is actually a negative trait, cause some has busy
schedules but some just goes to the meeting on a late time which may lead to a rescheduling of
other people’s plan. Practicing this may lead to a quarrel on both parties.

Strong Work Ethic is a positive trait that reflects the diligence, perseverance, and
dedication of Filipinos towards their work. Filipinos with a strong work ethic value punctuality,
productivity, and quality output. They are known for their willingness to work and their ability to
deliver results under challenging circumstances. On the other hand, Filipino Time is a negative
trait that reflects the tendency of Filipinos to be late or to disregard punctuality. Filipinos who
practice Filipino Time are known for their tendency to arrive late or to postpone appointments
without prior notice. This trait is often attributed to the laid-back nature of Filipinos, their
relaxed attitude towards time, and their tendency to prioritize personal relationships over work.
A strong work ethic is generally considered to be more convincing than Filipino Time. This is
because a strong work ethic reflects positive attitude towards work and dedication to achieving
one’s goals.
