Building a Protein from RNA Lab Report

Purpose: Explore the molecular process of building proteins from the information carried by
RNA using a laboratory procedure.
Question: How are proteins built using the information provided by a molecule of RNA
Hypothesis: RNA determines the sequence of amino acids in proteins and polypeptides.

How are proteins built using the information provided by a molecule of RNA:
RNA determines the sequence of amino acids in proteins and polypeptides by a two- step
process: transcription of DNA produces mRNA in the nucleus, then translation of the mRNA to
tRNA takes place at the ribosome in the cytoplasm.

RNA determines the sequence of amino acids in proteins and polypeptides.:

RNA determines the sequence of amino acids in proteins and polypeptides by a two-step process:
transcription of DNA produces mRNA in the nucleus, then translation of the mRNA to tRNA
takes place in the ribosome in the cytoplasm. 4 tRNA anticodon carries an amino acid that
compliments the mRNA codon.
