Dear Dr. Carrico,

I am pleased to announce that the Center for Arts, Migration, and

Entrepreneurship has awarded $2,500 to support you and your colleagues
(Colleen Rua, Alana Jackson, Antonio López, and guest artists) in your “Disaster
& the Body Working Group.” Congratulations!

CAME is honored to support your research and will list you and your project on
the CAME website. Please submit a brief abstract (maximum 250 words) of your
project suitable for dissemination on our website to CAME@arts.ufl.edu by
April 15, 2021.

You, your colleagues, and other awardees will play an important role in helping
CAME develop its trajectory in scholarship and service over the next few years.
In that period, CAME will continue building interdisciplinary relationships not
only with UF faculty, but also those at other institutions, with artists working in
their communities around the globe, and with many organizations, foundations,
and funding agencies. In that vein, I also ask that you consider the possibilities or
opportunities for extension or expansion of your research and practice.

The funds are available for project expenses between March 1, 2021 and
February 28, 2022. We will provide you with the budget information, chart string
and process for submitting expenses related to your award in a separate
communication.

Please include the following statement in any publications, journal submissions

or programs related to your project: “This project was supported in part by the
Center for Arts, Migration and Entrepreneurship (CAME) at the College of the
Arts, University of Florida. CAME recognizes migration and its attendant
cultural diasporas as locations of necessary innovation, resilience, and ingenuity
by people in new contexts.”

CAME will send an email on a quarterly basis to check with you on any project
updates or findings we might share. Within 30 days of the completion of your
project or by March 31, 2022 (whichever is earlier), please submit a report
(maximum 2 pages) summarizing your work to date, findings and any next steps
to CAME@arts.ufl.edu.

I look forward to receiving your project abstract in the coming days. In the
meantime, congratulations again and thank you for this opportunity to support
your work.

Best regards,
