Student Teaching Requirements Checklist
Maintain minimum GPA Requirement: 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Maintain professionalism and academic honesty as prescribed by the Code of Profes-
sionalism and Academic Honesty and the Pennsylvania Code of Professional Prac-
tice and Conduct for Educators.
Complete ED 190 - Effective Teaching with at least a 3.0 grade.
Complete the Teacher Education Program Application and essay and signed Code of
Professionalism & Academic Honesty
Submitted an updated Act 34 (State Police) Clearance with no offenses to the Education
Department prior to Student Teaching. NOTE: This must be submitted once, and will be
valid while continuous enrolled at Wilkes. Clearance should state: NO CRIMINAL
RECORD IN PENNSYLVANIA
Submission of updated Act 151 Clearances and with no offenses to the Education De-
partment prior to Student Teaching. NOTE: This must be submitted once and will be
valid while continuous enrolled at Wilkes. Clearance should state: NO RECORDS
 EXIST IN PA DEPARTMENT OF SUMAN SERVICES DATABASE
Submit a Federal Criminal History Record with the official seal. This must be submitted
once, and will be valid while at Wilkes. Clearance should state: SEARCH OF FIN-
GERPRINTS HAS REVEALED NO PRIOR ARREST.
Completion of all required coursework, with the exception of Student Teaching; student
must be eligible to graduate by the end of the summer of the academic year in which
Student Teaching was done.
Meet with your advisor and register for ED 390 and EDSP 388. Mrs. Paoletti, Education
Department secretary, will give clearance for you to registrar.
√ Approval of student teaching eligibility by major department, Education Department,
and Teacher Education Committee. (The Education Department will take care of this.)

In order to be eligible to student teach, I must have completed all requirements listed above. My
