IV. PROCEDURES

This lesson deals with getting information from various sources in everyday
A. Introduction life. Information, as available data everywhere, can be found in various
platforms and means such as news reports, speeches, informative talks and
panel discussions, among others. Getting information will basically expose
you not only in pool of information but should also help you identify which
details are factual and not. You are expected to identify certain details from
different sources and use them in various contexts.

 Learning Task 1: In their answer sheets, let them copy the


statements given. Assess their selves as to how they personally deal
with information they encounter. Ask them to place a check (/) in
every statement that applies to them
B. Development  Learning Task 2: Let the students identify if the given item is a

primary, secondary or tertiary source. Let them write their answers in
their answer sheets.
 Learning Task 3: The students will read the news report on pages 6-
7 published by GMA News Online on July 27, 2020 in their answer
sheets, they will answer the questions given.

Worksheet:
 Learning Task 1: The students will identify what source was used to
get the information in each number. They will choose their answer
from the box given.

 Learning Task 4: The students will read Bliss Abraham Lincoln’s

 Learning Task 5: Using a dictionary entry on page 9, the students


will discuss what information it can provide to readers. They will
write their answers in their answer sheets.

 Learning Task 2: The students will read and identify the boldfaced
word or phrase in each scenariois a primary, secondary, or tertiary
source of information.
 Learning Task 3: The students will read and analyse the two
headlines given. They will write their observatios in their answer
sheets.

 Learning Task 6: The students will give examples of sources of

 Learning Task 7: The students will get a copy of any news article
written in English. They will write and/or paste it in their answer
sheets. Then, they will provide an analysis on what significant
information are provided in the said article. Also, they will write a 5-
sentence summary of the article.
Learning Task 8: The students will search and watch President
Rodrigo Duterte’s 5th State of the Nation delivered on July 27, 2020.
They need to analyze and identify the important information
discussed in the SONA. SONA’s transcript which is available online
may also be used. They will write their answers in their answer
sheets.

Worksheet:
 Learning Task 4: The students will ask someone from their household
to help them look for a news report on the internet, TV, news paper,
radio etc. Note the important information then they will complete the
table given.
 Learning Task 5: Infographic is the new way of sharing information.
It is composed of graphic representations of information, data and
knowledge. Let the students create their own infographic on tips and
steps in spotting fake information.
