1. What are some ways that portfolios can be used?

- A portfolio can be used to demonstrate how your work has improved or to
showcase your body of work in general. It might also assist you in landing a job
or an internship.
2. What does a portfolio submitted to a professor at the end of the semester do and what is
included?
- It should to showcase my best work and demonstrate how my writing has
improved over time. Several of my best essays and other works, writing from
various genres and media, freewriting and other notes, drafts from the first to the
last, reader feedback, and a statement reflecting on my work should all be
included.
3. How will you determine what to include in the portfolio?
- To fully demonstrate how much my writing has progressed over time, I would
offer numerous versions, three of my favorites, peer review comments, and
reflections.
4. How will you organize your portfolio?
- A home page, tabs for each essay, the three drafts, reflections for each essay,
feedback, notes, and assignments will all be included.

Weebly Tutorial for beginners

2. Do you need to pay for Weebly?
- It is not required, but the features will be limited
3. Is Weebly a “grid system”? What does it mean to be a grid system?
- Weebly is a grid system where you have a block and you put whatever you want
4. Explain how to add text (in general).
- You click the build button on the top left, then a text block will pop p for you to
drag it wherever you need to put the text.

“Assembling Writing Portfolios”

1. What does Mauk say about why portfolios are assigned?

- “As a way to assess individual students performance - and sometimes to see if the
student body is meeting university standards. In addition, some employers request
portfolios so that they can assess an applicants writing proficiency.”
2. What does Mauk say effective portfolios highlight?
- “It highlights what writers learn over time, making connections between multiple
assignments and demonstrating knowledge and skills in different writing
situations.
3. Based upon Mauk’s advice and the assignment prompt create a list of what you will
include in your portfolio.
- The three drafts for each essay, feedback, and reflections
4. What does Mauk say that reflective statements allow students to do?
- “It allows students to see themselves as writers and discover both their strength
and the areas in which there is still room for improvement.”

1. From the comments you received from me on your first essay, list the revisions you need
to complete.
- You told me good job on my first essay, but one of my peers had told me to
grammar check and make sure all my points flowed properly
