In the text above there are two primary errors:

a) “Portfolio encompasses:” this sentence lacks the article ‘a’

b) “Finally, Portfolio is focus on to analyze, to reflect, to explain, to collect, to

propose, and evaluating academic processes what permit the self-evaluation of
the tasks.” In this sentence I must write the preposition ‘to’ in the first verb. The
word ‘what’ should be change for ‘that’.

REFLECTION:

When I was in my undergraduate practice, I was always worried because I had

many doubts, but I didn’t have the answers. Those doubts are about grammar and
how to make ideas flow with ease. I consider that I could overcome difficulties in
writing through reading and practicing it.

On the other hand, there are some positive intrinsic or facilitator aspects, they are:
curiosity, commitment, and self-inforcement.

Finally, I think that in order to improve my academic writing, I must have personal
commitment and to devote as much time as possible. Thus, step by step, I am going
to work hard to accomplish my goals.

a) There are some errors of grammatical structures and spelling.

Do you agree with Krashen’s 5 hypotheses about SLA?

Krashen’s 5 hypotheses establish the way persons acquire a second language and
the aspects involved in the process. He condenses great variety of important
elements which deal with the learning process. Besides, he classified hypotheses
in five aspects: Acquisition-Learning hypothesis, Monitor hypothesis, Input
hypothesis, Natural Order hypothesis, and Affective Filter hypothesis. I think
that, there are two meaningful aspects for learners. They are Acquisition-
Learning hypotheses and the Affective Filter. These determinate the way that
second language is acquired. For that reason, I agree with Krashen´s 5
hypotheses.

2. When learning English, do you think you followed these hypotheses? Was
it a conscious process?

I think that as we are learning a second language, we can experiment most of

them. However, there is a primary aspect in the learning process ‘Learned
System’, because it involves a conscious learning for the learners. Then, I
consider that my learning process is conscious.

3. How has your view on SLA changed (if so) after reading this text and
watching Krashen’s video?

After reading and watching Krashen’s video I can understand better the principal
aspects of learning process. It requires a communicative environment and
pragmatic trial and error learning.

a) There are some errors in the grammatical structures and punctuation.

b) There is a sentence without coherence.

Stephen Krashen´s Theory of Second Language

Acquisition.

1. I agree with Krashen´s hypothesis. The learning process is an activity that

occurs through the process of internalization. Students need to understand the
message or new information, analyze and acquire it in a natural way.

2. The teachers didn´t follow the Krashen’s hypotheses. The teachers did not
have enough resources for a motivating and practical class. They based their
teachings on grammatical structures and we repeated new words or vocabulary in a
mechanical way but we didn´t have a comprehensible input in natural way.

3. Learners can acquire a second language when the teachers use appropriate
techniques and methods, as a teacher, I think that my teaching process should change
with my students. I will create a good environment and motivate them. I will give
support, explore and activate their previous knowledge to develop the ability to
communicate through language with creative activities.
