ELECTROSTATICS

What is "Electrostatics"?

Electrostatics is the study of electric charges at rest. Friction is

an important process in electrostatics because it can cause the
transfer of electrons between two objects. This transfer of
electrons can result in one object becoming positively charged
and the other becoming negatively charged. Understanding the
role of friction in electrostatics is essential for understanding
how static electricity is generated and how it can be controlled
for various applications.

What are the two types of a charge?

All matter is made up of atoms, which have negatively

charged electrons and positively charged protons. When
an object has an unequal number of electrons and
protons, Charges come in two types: positive and
negative. Like charges repel each other, while opposite
charges attract each other.
