EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of my assignment project, I have been assigned the responsibility of managing a firm. I
made the decision to start a company selling women's head scarves as a consequence. Bawal scarves
and shawls are two styles of headwear that I sell. I am confident that our firm will prosper in the future
because of my passion in the fashion industry. In addition, by utilizing the product, consumers of this
apparel retailer may boost their confidence. I so reasoned that by selling these women's clothing
items, I might serve as an example to others. Making sure that my items satisfy client demand and the
best key performance indicators is my goal.

Additionally, I'm always working to grow our business in the future. Additionally, I chose this
company as a means of expanding my network and meeting new individuals. Through my engagement
in this industry, I discovered a new way to improve my self-worth, boost my confidence, and gain new
abilities. I was also able to increase my understanding of how to create marketing strategy utilizing
software. I made the decision to continue in this industry since it provided me with several advantages
that I couldn't acquire elsewhere.

2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (BEFORE ACTIVITY)

2.1 Introduction

The business activity that I manage is called Riana.scarves where this business is done
in a hybrid way, which is online and offline. This business is entirely owned by me. I decided to
start this business because of my own interest in styling different types of hijabs. This store
sells various types of hijab material that they can get through me or my agent.

2.2 Main Points


First of all, the product I chose for my business activity is women's clothing, which is
the hijab. Basically, the customers are from my contacts and followers from Instagram and also
my WhatsApp. Customers primarily come via my contacts and followers on Instagram and
WhatsApp. Next, the location where I carry out this business activity is from home and at
college. I am the owner of this business activity, so I need to keep my own stock for the
business. I use my phone to promote my products. The reason I choose to sell this product is
because it is easy for students like me to handle, without having to think about product
expiration dates or damaged products.

2.2.1 State the Products / Services


The women's clothing product that I sell is hijab. The price for a piece of bawal scarves
is RM12 and RM8 for postage. Purchases of 5 pieces or more will get a promotional price
where a piece of scarves is RM10 each. Meanwhile, for a piece of shawl it is RM25 and RM8
for postage. Purchases above RM70 will receive free shipping.

2.2.2 Justification of product / Service Choice


I chose to sell scarves because it is based on my own position as a student. As a woman
I want to always look beautiful and neat, for hijabis, scarves are something important for them.
Scarves also have many different types of material, and this plays an important role in ensuring
their neatness when worn. The bawal scarves that I sell use "Cotton Voile" material, while the
shawl is made of "Bubble Satin" material. Both materials are very high-quality fabrics and easy
to shape so that they always look neat. Not only that, but the reasonable price also makes it

affordable. So, I am sure the girls will buy and be satisfied with this product. This is because it
can help them get ready faster without having to think about messy and difficult-to-shape
veils. Not only students, but career women can also get this hijab. So, I want to take this
opportunity to sell it to them. Then, I will also open registration to my customers to become
an agent or dropship of this product because I want to expand my business further, as well as
be able to help them generate income easily.

2.2.3 Target Market


My target market to buy my hijab is from my acquaintances, my friends, friends from
college, my followers on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. What I can observe, they all like to
style hijab according to current trends. Their favorite colors are also soft colors such as pastel
colors. I think that my customers must want the material and color of the scarf that I sell
because it is easy and suitable to match with anything, and surely, they can afford it because
of the reasonable price offered by Riana.scarves.

2.2.4 Distribution Strategy


The distribution strategy of this product, I will focus on selling products online using
my social media. The platforms I use are Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp
by posting through their statuses and Instagram feeds and stories. All I must do is post
consistently on the platform to let people know what exactly I'm trying to sell. Not only that,
but I will also share hijab care tips, how to wash hijab properly and various other interesting
tips that can be used by them. Therefore, customers will be interested in what I sell, and they
will give good feedback on my products.

2.3 What are the strategies and approaches that you take (4Ps)?
There are several strategies and approaches that I take for product, price, place, and
promotion. For products, my strategy is to choose products that are easy to store and sell so
that they are easy to manage. In addition, for the product I also need to prepare a hood with
quality fabric material to be able to give satisfaction to the customer. Not only that, but I also
plan to open a dropship registration opportunity under my small business so that I can further
develop my products and help people generate additional income. As for the price, I sell RM12
for a piece of tudung and RM8 for postage and RM25 for a piece of shawl. For purchases over
RM70 will get free shipping. For my dropship, the commission I give for a piece of bawal scarf

is RM2, while for a shawl it is RM5. Next, the place where I carry out this business activity is at
home and in college. Finally, the strategy I use to promote my product is to use a hybrid
method. The platforms I use to promote are Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok. For dropship I
use Telegram and for purchases I use Whatsapp. I can get a lot of help from this platform
because I am accustomed to utilizing it.

2.4 State the source where you obtain financial assistance to start the business

Activity.
I get financial resources to start this business activity through my own savings. Before
this I worked as a part-time barista, and from that salary I made savings to start this business.
I need to save my money to make it the capital of this business because the capital required
for this business is quite a lot.

2.5 Show simple financial statement

As a seller, I promote my products by posting edited photos and videos to social media.
All my hijab photo collections will be taken using a quality camera in the studio. With the result
of a beautiful picture, it can attract the attention of customers to buy the promoted product.
So, with these interesting pictures, I uploaded them to social media to promote them. I upload
the pictures and videos according to the schedule I have prepared. So far, the average veil that
I have sold each week is as much as 20 pieces and below. I will take a new stock if the stock of
the old hood is reduced.

I will spend time promoting my products every morning, noon, evening, and night.
Even though I am busy with daily tasks, I will still take the time to check social media and make
sure my customers don't wait too long for me to reply to their messages. Finally, the amount I
got for this business activity for the last month is RMXX. My weekly profit is RMXX, RMXX,
RMXX, and RMXX each for 4 weeks.

3.1 CUSTOMER SEGMENTS


One of the most important elements of the business model canvas (BMC) and the one
that holds the key to its success is the client segment. In addition, the core of each company
strategy is its clients. None of the businesses can last very long without them. To generate
money, each seller seeks to market their products or services to a certain clientele.
Furthermore, it has the following characteristics like Geographical, Demographic,
Psychographic and Behavioural.

For my product, the customer segment consists of a psychographic, which is.


"Lifestyle". My products are more to a lifestyle because the scarves are a hijabis women's
clothing that they will wear all the time. I chose lifestyle psychographics for this category of
users because my products meet the lifestyle of women nowadays.

Furthermore, my target customer is for these products are Career Woman and
Students. This is because my environment is surrounded by female students and workers. Also,
they do not have time to get ready for too long because of their daily tasks. With my products,
it can lighten their burden in terms of time, because my scarves is not easy to wrinkle, easy to
shape and neat when styled to go to class or work.

3.2 CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP


The methods and strategies used to develop and sustain a strong relationship with
customers are referred to as customer relationship. The company may benefit from having
more repeat customers since they may promote the goods and draw in new customers.
Furthermore, it determines the kinds of relationships a business will have with each of its
consumer categories.

My types of relationship with customer is Personal Assistance because it has a human


connection. I am able to talk or chat with customer about my products, also I can get feedback
direct from customer and more.

To maintain a relationship with my customers I give them a free gift for every purchase.
In this way, customers will like and repeat buying my products in the future.

3.3 CHANNELS
Channel refers to how a firm or business communicates with and reaches its target
market to provide its value proposition. The process might be carried out through the
company's own channels, channels maintained by partners, or a mix of the two. In order to
communicate with the clients, my services had chosen channels. For my products. I am use:

• SOSIAL MEDIA MARKETING (ONLINE)

I use social media platforms to promote my products. With the availability of


Instagram, TikTok and so on, it makes it easier for me to promote my products more
widely due to the large number of social media users.

• DIRECT MARKETING (OFFLINE)

I also used the direct marketing method when I was in college because my friends
would often come to my room to buy my products. I also use a direct delivery service
without using a courier.

3.4 VALUE PROPOSITIONS


A company's value proposition explains why a client should buy a product or use a
service it is selling. This is a description of a service or attribute intended to draw customers
to the business. The value proposition will provide greater value or more effectively handle a
problem when compared to other similar services. It will take part in a variety of areas, such
as performance, design, price, etc. their own values.

My product has a value proposition to attract customers because it is the second most
important aspect of the company. My services may become one of the prosperous enterprises
and guarantee excellent performance in the future by having their own values. Among my
value products is that it is easy to wear, it has a good material, high demand in the marketplace,
fashion update following the trend and lastly for my dropship, it is easy to make additional
money.

3.5 KEY ACTIVITIES


The most important work that a company must perform in order to accomplish its
business aim is referred to as key operations. A company must carry out the important part of
its business strategy in order to prosper. Customer support, sales, marketing, and production
will all be engaged.

• PACKING
One of the services I provide in my business is packing. I need to pack the orders that
have been made before giving them to the customer.

• IRONING

In addition, before packing I will also iron first so that it will look more neat and tidy.

• PROMOTE

In my business I also need to promote my products to customers. Advertising my


products to the public is an important thing to ensure that customers know about my
products.

3.6 KEY PARTNERS


Key Partners are relationships that a company have with other entities that help the
business model to work for instance, suppliers, manufacturers, or advisors. These partnerships
are a helping hand needed to succeed in areas that would be inefficient for the company to
take care of itself.

• Jakel
I used fabric form Jakel to make a scarf this is because of their fabric’s quality and affordable
price.

• Agent
I have a lot of agent to help me promote my products and reselling my products. So, from that
the marketing of my products is expanding and the demand is increasing.

• Influencer
I also asking some influencer to review my scarf. This is because a lot of people know them so
they will buy my scarf because of their idol’s review.

I use Instagram, Tiktok and Telegram platforms to promote my products to customers.

I will use Whatsapp as channel to me to communicate with my customer.

solutions are frequently licenced on a per-user or per-device basis. Additionally, there could
be setup expenses, maintenance costs, and other extra fees, such fees for customization and
integration. The quantity of services provided, the type of hardware utilised, and the number
of people or devices being monitored can all have an impact on a BMC solution's price. BMC
solution costs can also vary based on the provider and the volume of purchases.

For my cost structure, electricity bill, parcel package, plastic bag, wrapping paper and
sticker.

3.9 REVENUE STREAMS


The element that has to be identified is the business's income sources. The company's
cash and earnings from the customer segment are represented by it. One-time or ongoing sales,
bookings, rents, and licences can all generate income. The section on income sources should look at
cost, competition, and consumer value.

• PAID REVIEW
For my business I use an additional method which is paid review to Instagram
influencers. It takes a little capital from my business but the results I get are very
satisfying. People are getting more familiar with my products after using this method.

4.0 EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

4.1 The valuable lessons from the business activity.

After running this project, what I learned is that we need to be patient when running
this business activity. We need to be consistent in promoting our products so that people know
what we are promoting, and this business also needs some time to gain customer trust in our
products. Not only that, through this business activity, I was also able to learn new
experiences, skills, and knowledge. My first impression of this business activity was quite
stressful for me. To be honest, before starting this business, I was afraid to trade while being a
full-time university student. A lot of negative thoughts interfered with my thinking, but when
I started doing my own business, I had a lot of fun doing it. From this business activity, I learned
about time management. Successful people are good at dividing their time between studying
and doing side jobs.

In addition, while carrying out this business activity, I was able to improve my social
skills. As an entrepreneur, we must have a good network. I managed to change myself from a
shy person to a brave person. This is because in the business world, we must dare to stand
out. Also, I should learn how to write concise and important information while promoting the
business. This is because, every information provided must be accurate and easy to
understand so that customers are easily attracted to the products that I promote. Moreover,
during my business activities, I like it when people show their interest in my products even if
they just ask and don't buy them.

Finally, I feel excited and grateful to open this business because I really enjoy running
my business now. I will not give up and will continue to move forward so that my business can
grow more widely. I also hope that I can bring in other products in my business in the future.

4.2 Challenges faced throughout the business activity.

Throughout my business activities, I have faced several challenges while selling my


products. The first challenge I had to face was when the stock was slow to reach me. I had to
wait a few days to get my stock to be distributed to dropship and full payment customers. I'm

afraid if the customer gives bad feedback, one of which is about slow delivery. In addition,
another challenge is when my phone memory is full too quickly. I need to keep a lot of pictures
and messages from customers as my promotional material. I had to delete pictures and videos
that were no longer used to download new ones. Despite the difficulties I had, I am glad that
I was able to do so successfully and earn knowledge I may use in the future.

5.0 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, after studying the business and several people scanning the environment, I
agree that this scarf business will be the best decision for me. I am sure Riana.scarves will be popular
and well known. Other than that, I believe riana.scarves will generate a lot of profit to cover all
expenses. In addition, I am confident that I can achieve all my objectives such as increasing sales by
2024. In conclusion, riana.scarves is an important and best project to serve the community with the
best services I offer. Therefore, I really need to get approval to start my operation because it will have
a big impact in a community. Finally, completing this ENT300 business report has provided the best
opportunity. Therefore, ENT300 is crucial for me since it will expose and inspire me to launch a brand-
new company so that I can survive in the long run.
