TRAINING DESIGN
I. TITLE:

Virtual Orientation and Training Workshop on Crafting Action or Basic Research and
Educational Innovation

II. RATIONALE:

The growing need to address the effective implementation of the Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) through the various learning delivery modalities inspired
educationalists and other advocates to conduct massive trainings and workshops, which include
research and innovation.

Innovations in education are considered important in responding to the changing and

challenging world of teaching and learning. The varying educational outcomes could be shaped
through research, which is a scientific field of study that examines education and learning
process and the human attributes interactions, organizations, and institutions. (American
Research Association as cited in Department Order (DepEd) No. 16, series of 2017)

This District Research Orientation and Workshop is very timely because topics prepared
and aligned respond to the urgency for a productive and equitable education for our clienteles in
the new normal landscape of education. It is geared towards enhancing the skills of our teachers
in understanding the context of basic and action research in relation to the learning modalities
adopted by the schools and in ensuring that education continues amid perplexities and
challenges.

Education is lifelong, thus continuing education program for teachers that includes
research is therefore a necessity.
