ACTIVITY/TRAINING DESIGN
I. TITLE: 3- Day In- Service Training on Upskilling Teachers on Lesson
Planning, the use of Varied Teaching Strategies, Test Construction,
Development of Instructional Materials and Orientation on the
Implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education.
II. RATIONALE/ BACKGROUND:
Teachers play a crucial role in nation building. Through quality teachers, our nation can
develop holistic learners who are globally competitive, well molded with values and equipped
with 21st century skills. To ensure the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating
basic education in the country, the Department of Education underscored the value and
importance of delivering quality education.
Miglamin National High School is an institution that promotes quality education with a
vision to help teachers and school leaders create a unified set of values and beliefs which drive
to the development of a high-performance learning culture. It bears a hashtag #uswagMiNHS
which means “Unity in the School Wonderfully Achieves Greater goal. It highly valued In-
Service Training (INSET) for teachers as it has been considered crucial to the maintenance and
sustaining the capacity of the teachers to continue to provide quality teaching and learning.
INSET also provides variety of activities and practices that meet the needs of the teachers based
on the result of their Self-Assessment. It helps teachers in improving their teaching methods,
classroom management, professional growth and development and knowledge and skills
enhancement that leads to the upliftment of student-centered learning.
To ensure that learners have acquired necessary competencies and values to improved
health, help them complete basic education without the burden of health concerns, teachers
must be fully equipped with the different skills in teaching particularly on lesson planning, test
construction and on the development of learning materials. Aside from, teachers also need to be
oriented on Comprehensive Sexuality Education as they play a crucial role in the development
and growth of the students.
III. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY:
The 3- Day In- Service Training on Upskilling Teachers on Lesson Planning, the use of
Varied Teaching Strategies, Test Construction, Development of Instructional Materials and
Orientation on the Implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education is scheduled on
February 7- 9, 2023 at Miglamin National High School Covered Court.
The program generally aims to upskill teachers teaching skills on lesson planning, test
construction, development of learning materials and to orient them on the implementation of
comprehensive sexuality education.
The participants to this activity are the 15 teachers, 1 administrative officer and 1 school
head of Miglamin National High School.
The activities to be undertaken are the following: The making of Lesson plan using
varied teaching strategies, test construction and development of learning materials, teaching
demonstrations on the different skills, and orientation on Comprehensive Sexuality Education
Implementation.

IV. OBJECTIVES:
The 3- Day In- Service Training on Upskilling Teachers on Lesson Planning, the use of Varied
Teaching Strategies, Test Construction, Development of Instructional Materials and Orientation
on the Implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education aims to:
1. Upskill teachers teaching skills particularly on lesson planning, the use of

varied teaching strategies, Test Construction, and Development of
Instructional Material.
2. Orient teachers on the Implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality
Education.
