INTRODUCTION:
“The world may not change if you adopt a child, but for that one child, his/her world will change.” –
Unknown
Mandated to provide an enhanced learning environment and resources which would benefit children and
youth, the Malubog Integrated School (MIS) implemented the Adopt – a – Child Program (ACP). This program
was an initiative to continue aiding selected feeding beneficiaries and indigent learners outside the school
MOOE funding and the national budget. This program is a precautionary measure in case the School – Based
Feeding Program (SBFP) budget allocation will be temporarily stopped. The program was realized to sustain
the feeding activity in school without depending on the SBFP budget and at the same time, to encourage other
stakeholders to also share their resources for the same cause.
OBJECTIVE/S:
To narrate the implementation process of Adopt – a – Child Program
To provide feedback on the implementation of Adopt – a – Child Program
ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
To sustain the implementation of the ACP initiatives, projects, and activities for the School Year 2021 –
2022, the Malubog Integrated School faculty, together with its school principal Dr. Ausonia B. Cogtas, met to
discuss innovations and to create a support system for the learners. Successfully, the team has reached a
consensus and devised a program which aims to support, in our own little ways, the selected feeding
beneficiaries and indigent learners by providing monthly essential goods, such as, but not limited to, groceries,
milk, bread, packed lunch, rice, and the likes.
Each member of the MIS faculty, headed by its school principal, has been providing essential goods
amounting to Php 500.00 to Php 1000.00 to 24 selected feeding beneficiaries and indigent learners every month.
The ACP learner beneficiaries were given groceries, packed lunch, and even school supplies by their respective
teacher supporter/adopter.
The Adopt – a – Child Program (ACP) is continuously engaged in considering support from various
stakeholders in the community to ensure that the program will have more adopters/supporters. The more
adopters/supporters we have, the more learner beneficiaries can avail the privilege/s of the program. The
program is open for support that contributes to expanding access to quality education to every learner.
