TITLE: COFFEE HAUS

Many people dream of becoming an entrepreneur one day. However, I realized that
there are many factors to consider. You have to ask yourself, “Are you ready for this
challenge?” Not everyone has the vision, innovation and creativity to become an
entrepreneur. One of the first things we do when we open Coffee Haus is define our
core values. My choices are product quality, environmental friendly, excellent customer
service and food safety. Product quality is very important as it affects the success of our
coffee shop and helps establish our reputation in the customer market. If our customers
are satisfied with our food and service, they will remain loyal to us. Thus, they will
continue buy from us in the future. Freedom, passion and my family are what inspired
me to start my own business. I am inspired by the fact that every day is a new day. I
truly believe that there are opportunities every day, especially when you’re building a
business. I am very excited when I wake up because I don’t know what will happen and
what will I get.
Coffee Haus aims to be the most popular in the region in its first year and maintain a
60% gross margin. “To be the leading provider of a wide range of delicious beverages
and baked goods, in a comfortable, relaxed and friendly environment, guaranteeing the
highest level of quality products and the best value for money.” The Coffee Haus'
mission is to provide our customers and communities with the highest quality products
and services through leadership, innovation and partnership, and to outperform our
competitors by providing our customers with dignified, excellent, and personalized
service. Also, to provide the highest quality food and beverages, especially coffee, at
reasonable prices. A café that offers comfort, a convenient location, and the best
customer service to relieve the stress of everyday life. “To be a place where family and
friends can always enjoy delicious coffee drinks and delicious sweets and baked
goods.” Coffee Haus’ vision is all about bringing people together and enjoying each
other’s company. We believe that what we do can weave a fabric of positive
relationships and experiences from our coffee shop out into the world. We get your day
off to a better start by delivering the best experience through ethically sourced coffee.
The Coffee Haus was built to create a safe space and comfortable environment for
those who are looking for it, and to give people the chance to socialize, to bring people
together and provide excellent service. This sounds very simple, but it is very an
impactful thing. Our goal is to create a business and work environment that generates
substantial income where both customers and employees are treated with dignity and
respect. Our café’s specific goal is to earn a personal income of at least 10,000 pesos
per year. Also to create a basic customer base of people who live and work in the area.
These people like a relaxed atmosphere where they can “hang out”. Lastly, our
objectives are:
 Maintain a high standard of food quality and service
 Ensure a friendly comfortable atmosphere
 Distribute fliers to neighborhood and to people passing by our shop
 Offer discount coupons
 Maintain and use a customer mailing list
The estimated start-up fund that will flow in the process of our coffee shop business is
1,500,000 pesos consisting of several items like obtaining licenses and permit, a 500
sq. meter for our café that will offer lounge seating area, fireplace, bookshelf, handicap-
accessible washroom, and kitchen with an annual rent of 8,000 per month and
remodeling of space for our shop that is totaling up to 100,000 pesos. Equipments for
the total amount of approximately 300,000 which includes espresso machine, coffee
maker, coffee grinder, food service equipment like microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc.
Storage hardware like food case, utensil rack, plates, glasses, etc. worth approximately
10,000 pesos. Counter area equipment, store equipment, office equipment, and other
miscellaneous expenses worth approximately 200,000. The equipments will be
amortized by using the straight-line method with an estimated useful life of 15 years. We
will even promote our café via social media like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. We
will create a website and advertise all our products there, so people will know about it.
There will be some discount coupons on the website that people could print it and
redeem at our store. It will cost us for a basic website for 2,000 pesos to manage and
develop it. We will also distribute flyers attaching any discount offer in their first coffee,
sandwich, or any snack. We will make our flyers on Closest to DL (95mm x 210mm) so
it will be inexpensive to make 50 flyers that will cost 500 – 1,000 pesos with tax. To
operate the coffee shop, I need to hire 5 employees with 2 cashiers that need to
undergo a 1 week training. They also have an insurance of 850 pesos each that is
totaling 4,250 pesos. Coffee Haus is expected to make a profit of approximately
100,000 in its first year of operations, which is a good indication for the business. An
total of 400,000 is estimated for the first year sales. For the next 6 months of successful
operation, we are planning to add more varieties of cookies, chocolates, and ice creams
to its range of beverages section. As far as brand extension to other categories is
concerned, it’s surely part of out long-term strategy.
