Installation
The flow regulator is provided with a mounting plate. The mounting plate must be fastened to the wall of the well
covering the outlet opening by means of the attached HST-R M10x90 bolts of acid-resistant steel.
Please note that level 1 and level 2 must be equal.
Tightening between plate and wall of well is made with the attached waterresistant silicone.
Wedge coupling and lifting rod allow bypass and dismounting of the regulator from ground level.

Installation Instruction
General
To ensure correct operation the flow regulator must be installed and inspected in accordance with these
instructions and the sketches provided.
The CEVA flow regulator is used exclusively for the regulation of storm water and surface water. It is available
in two different designs; a standard design with sealing and a design with oil passage for regulation of the inlet
to oil separators, coalescence separators or the like. This instruction is valid for the design which allows oil
passage.
Type CEVA-KPS is used where easy access for inspection of the flow regulator as well as drainage must be
provided.
The regulator is provided with an infinitely adjustable orifice plate. On delivery this plate has been set to
regulate the required volume, and the settings must therefore not be changed. The dimensions of the specific
flow regulator will appear from the sketches provided with these instructions.
Installation
The flow regulator requires a sump/sand catcher, which is at least 0.35 m deeper than the inside bottom of the
outlet pipe for types up to and including CEVA 550. For larger flow regulators the sump must have a depth of at
least 500mm. The regulator can be installed in a well/chamber with a diameter of at least 1000 mm. However, it
is recommended to use a well/chamber size with a diameter of at least 1250 mm., a cross section of 1000 x 1000
mm or the like and to establish a sump/sand catcher over the entire cross section of the well/chamber. The inlet
pipe must be at a level 20 mm higher than the outlet pipe of the well/chamber.
Type CEVA-KPS consists of a regulator-unit with coupling claw and lifting rod as well as a plate-unit with
mounting plate, outlet tube and coupling plate.
The flow regulator must be fitted at the outlet on the inside of chamber or well; the regulator is installed
submerged. Fasten the mounting plate on the wall of the well at the outlet opening using drilled-in or embedded
bolts. Place the mounting plate so that the tip of the coupling plate is facing upwards and the lower edge of the
outlet tube of the mounting plate rest on the inside bottom of the outlet pipe. Seal with water-resistant joint filler
or sealing strips between the mounting plate and the wall of the well/chamber.
Now hook the flow regulator with its coupling claw over the coupling plate until the coupling claw hits the flap
at the bottom of the coupling plate.
It is recommended that the clearance below the orifice plate is checked after installation.
Oil passage
When the mounting plate is fitted correctly with tip of the coupling plate facing upwards, the inlet opening of
the flow regulator will be on a level with the lowest possible water surface, thus allowing free passage of oil and
other light-weight substances.

Maintenance and Inspection Instructions
General
To ensure correct operation the flow regulator must be installed and inspected in accordance with these
instructions and the sketches provided.
The flow regulator is used exclusively for the regulation of storm water and surface water. It is available in two
different designs; a standard design with seal and a design with oil passage for regulation of the inlet to oil
separators, coalescence separators or the like. This instruction is valid for the design which allows oil passage.
Type CEVA-KPS is used where easy access for inspection of the flow regulator as well as drainage must be
provided. The dimensions of the specific flow regulator will appear from the sketches provided with these
instructions.
As the inlet opening of the flow regulator is not kept constantly submerged, there is a risk of clogging caused by
floating substances or bodies. Therefore, the flow regulator must be inspected at regular intervals.
Also, the sump/sand catcher must be inspected and drained, as required, in order to prevent clogging caused by
sediment. It is recommended to inspect the flow regulator and sump/sand catcher frequently immediately after
installation of the flow regulator and then adapt the inspection frequency to suit the conditions observed.
It would be advisable to combine the inspection of the flow regulator and the sump/sand catcher with the
inspection of the oil separator.
