The Present Perfect Tense


1. To express an action that s happened past until now (with “for” and “since” (both present perfect or present perfect continuous)

Example (mengungkapkan kejadian yang terjadi dari masa lampau dan masih berlangsung hingga saat ini)

 Jokowi has been Indonesian president since 2014 > Jokowi is a president

 I have lived / have been living here from 2017

 My sister has studied / has been studying in the elementary school for 3 years

 I have studied / have been studying English since grade 1

 I have studied in BI since 2020

 I have studied in BI for one year

 Oma Irama has been a singer since 1970

 You have studied English with me 1 year

2. Happens in the past but the result or effect exist until now (stressing on effect)

Untuk mengungkapkan kejadian yang terjadi di masa lalu tapi hasilnya atau effeknya masih terasahingga saat ini

3. Stating ending (already) or beginning (yet)/ belum or sudah (only present perfect)

 I have paid the bill already

 We have not finished the report yet

4. Happened in the past but the effect exist until now
