International BMC EB Festival 2022
"Prepare Studentpreneurship for Digital Revolution”

The International Business Model Canvas (BMC) Competition is part of EB Festival events organized by the
Student Executive Board of Economic and Business Faculty at Syiah Kuala University. This Business Model
Canvas competition is for every Bachelor’s or Diploma degree student from universities around the world and
aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students. In addition, through the chosen theme, it is hoped that
innovative and creative ideas can emerge so that they can contribute to the utilization and development of
entrepreneurship. There is also a BMC theme raised in this competition, namely "Prepare Studentpreneurship
for Digital Revolution" which is a hot issue that is being discussed by various groups ranging from economics,
practitioners, business, and social communities.

B. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The Participants are active students in Bachelor’s or Diploma degrees from Universities around the world
2. m Participants of BMC EB Fest 2022 are teams consisting of a minimum of two members and a maximum of
m three members, where team members are allowed to come from different faculties/study programs but must
m come from the same University, every team must appoint one team leader.
3. m Registration is carried out online and participants are required to fill in all data that can be accessed on

Registration and submission of BMC and Modules is open from 7 – 26 October 2022.
5. m Participants must follow all the of the competition timeline of BMC Competition according to the timeline
m stated in the booklet.
6. m Participants who qualify for the final (Top 10) must confirm to the committee according to the specified date. If
m the participant violates the provisions, the committee has the right to disqualify the participant
7. m If the participant who passes to the final round does not confirm on the date determined by the committee,
m the committee has the right to replace the participant's position with the participant who has the highest
m ranking in the waiting list.

The decision of the judges is final and cannot be contested.

If the committee finds cheating, either before, during, or after the competition takes place, the participant

concerned will be disqualified.
Participants of BMC EB Fest 2022 Competition are able and willing to follow the provisions made by the
competition organizing committee
C. ELIMINATION ROUND MECHANISM

1. m Group leader must collect the Business Model Canvas and Explanation Module of 9 BMC elements in one file
m via email at ebevent2022@gmail.com with a module format that can be downloaded starting from October 7
m to October 26, 2022, at 23.59 WIB.
2. m Business Model Canvas and Modules can be in Indonesian or English, but language will not affect the
m assessment.
3. m The collection is carried out by one group leader with the format ELIMINATION_BMC_TEAM
4. m NAME_UNIVERSITY.
m Selection will be made with the judgers and the judges decision is final and cannot be contested.
5. m Participants who qualify for the final round will be announced on October 31 via Whatsapp group and
Instagram account @ebfestival
In this round, 10 best teams will be selected to enter the final round and 5 teams will be put on a waiting list.
D. FINAL ROUND MECHANISM

1. m Participants who are declared to be in the final must collect PowerPoint presentations regarding BMC and
m Modules that have been collected in the elimination round and are allowed to make PowerPoint as creative as
m possible
2. m Power Points are collected via email at ebevent2022@gmail.com by the group leader no later than November
m 7, 2022, at 23.59 WIB with the format FINAL_BMC_TEAM NAME_UNIVERSITY.
3. m The presentation will be held online on November 9, 2022, and will be given a maximum presentation time of 15
m minutes.
4. m Participants will appear and present PowerPoint through a zoom meeting in front of judges from academics
m and practitioners.
5. m The order of the teams that will present the presentation will be chosen randomly by the committee and will
m6be sent via the finalist Whatsapp group no later than the final H-1.
6. m The announcement of the winner of the BMC competition will be held at the Closing of EB Festival on November
11, 2022.
BMC ELEMENTS
1. m Customer Segments
m Customer segments explain the segmentation of consumers or the target market. Target consumers can be
m divided into various segments according to their needs, for example, based on age, gender, hobbies, and level
m of consumerism. Who did your solution have the most positive impact on? Is your solution suitable for other
m individuals or businesses?

m Value Proposition
m The value proposition is the selling value of products/services so that consumers choose your company over
m competitors. What caused the problem to occur? Why do consumers want the problem to go away? What are
m the benefits of your business for consumers?

m Customer Relationship
m Customer relationship is understanding and approaching consumers. Every company must have what is the
m most effective way to interact with consumers and potential consumers. How do attract consumers' attention?
m What should be done so that consumers are loyal to your product?

Channel
Channel is a meeting place with consumers. Where are your customers located? Are they actively using social
media? Do they like listening to the radio or music apps? This can determine where you should place your ad.
Whether on billboards, on social media, in newspapers, and so on

5. Key Partners
In a business, you need a partner who supports your company. If until now you have not found the uniqueness
of your product/service due to lack k of networking, you need a work partner who can help you.

6. Key Activities
Key activities are business activities that are carried out daily in order to achieve value propositions. What kind
of business activities can be applied in within the company to help you keep customers satisfied?

7. Key Resources
Companies need the right resources because these are assets owned to support company activities.
Examples include computers, workspaces, employees, vehicles, electricity, and so on.

8. Cost Structure
The cost structure is a financial scheme that finances the company's operations. How much money should be
spent to carry out the company's activities per day? How much does it cost for the resources used? What is
the marketing price of the product?

9. Revenue Streams
The revenue stream is a source of company income from various sources such as sales proceeds, dividends,
and so on. Sources of income must be managed as well as possible and ensured so as not to experience
business losses. Where does your business income come from? What strategy will you make?
BMC MODULES
1. m The English or Indonesian language used is the standard language with great grammar and spelling, is simple,
m clear, and unified, prioritizes terms that are easy to understand, does not use sentences that can cause
m ambiguous perceptions, and does not use abbreviations.

m The Modules is typed with 1.5 spacing on A4 size paper with 4cm left, 3cm right, 3cm top, 3cm bottom, and
m typed using Times New Roman font size 12 pt.
