A: Hey guys, how are you doing? What are you studying?

B: Hi, I'm studying marketing. It's a career that requires skills in data
analysis and creativity to develop effective campaigns. There are
many different aspects to marketing, including market research,
branding, and advertising.
C: I want to study civil engineering which requires technical and
project management skills to oversee the construction of buildings,
bridges, and highways. There are many specialties within civil
engineering, such as structural and transportation engineering.
A: That's fascinating. What kind of skills do you need to be successful
in your respective fields?
B: In marketing, I would like to have communication and persuasion
skills to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and
consumers. Analytical skills are also important for making data-driven
decisions.
C: In civil engineering, you need strong math and problem-solving
skills. You also need to be able to manage projects and teams
effectively, so leadership skills are important as well. Attention to detail
and the ability to think critically are also crucial.
A: Those are some impressive skills. What are your long-term career
goals?
B: I would like to work for an international marketing company and
gain experience developing global campaigns. Eventually, I want to
start my own marketing firm.
C: My goal is to gain experience in the construction of large structures
and work on important projects that will have a positive impact on my
community. I want to eventually become a project manager and lead
teams on large-scale projects.
A: Those are both great goals. Do you have any concerns about the
job market or finding employment after graduation?
B: Yes, the job market in marketing is quite competitive, so I know I'll
have to work hard to stand out. But I'm confident that with the right
skills and experience, I'll be able to find a great job. I want to gain as
much experience as possible and learn from successful marketers.
C: I am worried about the job market in civil engineering due to the
current state of the economy. Nonetheless, I am optimistic that there
will be opportunities available, and I am willing to work hard to make
myself a competitive candidate by continuously learning and
expanding my skillset.
A: It sounds like you both have the drive and determination to
succeed. I wish you the best of luck in your future careers.
