EVALUATING THE LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS (CBOs)

UNDER THE KAANIB ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (KEDP)

Geared towards enhancing the capacity of community-based organizations through the

provision of livelihood opportunities, it is imperative to assess the level of competencies of
Community-Based Organizations (CBO) under the KEDP.

Through a point system, the performance of the CBO will be assessed in several areas namely:
(a) Organizational Empowerment; (b) Innovativeness; (c) Management of the KAANIB Project;
and (d) Sustainability and Replicability. The accumulated points acquired by the CBOs will serve
as basis in classification of the CBOs into different levels of development, namely: (1) Level I:
Emerging Organization (0-49 points); (2) Level II: Expanding Organization (50-75 points); and (3)
Level III: Mature Organization (76-100 points).

The assessment aims to identify and categorize the CBOs based on the levels of competencies
achieved over the years. Specifically, at the end of the assessment, it is expected to rank the
performance of the CBO in the parameters identified, namely:

A. Organizational Empowerment
1. Registration and Accreditation with an appropriate government regulatory
agency
2. Record Keeping
3. Leadership and Management
B. Innovativeness
1. Farm Resource Management
2. Originality and Innovation
C. Management of the KAANIB Project
1. Productivity
2. Quality of the produced product/commodity
3. Market Accessibility
