1. Dam Ring
Take care of the wear
(Atención al desgaste)
In the raw mill operation a capacity drop
Possible Potential additional was observed with increasing table wear.
problems symptoms The necessary dam ring reduction can
Too high dam ring ▪ High bed depth helping to incasing the capacity.
▪ Increased power absorption After replacement of table liner to the
(reduction of pressure required) original thickness, we can observed a
▪ Reduced comminution efficiency significant increasing in mill capacity.

▪ Vibrations wear in order to maintain optimal
material retention and bed depth!
Too low dam ring ▪ Low bed depth
▪ Vibrations
▪ Increased water demand
▪ Low power absorption of main
drive
▪ Lower production
2. Sistema de Inyección de
Agua
Position of the pipe, nozzles and angle
(Posición de la tubería, boquillas y ángulo)
Water Injection Nozzle

Water injection slows the

material on the table and
increases the mill stability

We need to improve the position of pipe and the number of nozzles, outlet directed vertically to
material bed Situated close to roller and material bed covering most of the roller width, Water
injection <3% from total feed.

3. Descarga del Rechazo
Optimize the cone extension

4. Factor de Prehidratación
Increase gypsum dehydration inside the mill
(Incrementar deshidratación
del yeso en el molino)
Prehydration Factor
•This factor called prehydration factor "corrected
loss-on-ignition" Wk is calculated as
Wk [%]= LOI (450C) - LOI (120C)
Pre-hydration of the clinker minerals can occur :
I) as a result of incorrect internal water cooling in the
cement mill.

2) when storing too hot cement in a silo

3) when clinker and especially cement is exposed to humidity

during storage .

4 ) As a result of poor drying in the mill, the cement produced

would still contain a high moisture content.
To avoid important loss strength due to prehydration of fine
particles during milling process Wk [%] ≤ 0,3
5 ) When there is insufficient gypsum dehydration in the mill,
and the cement temperature entering the storage silo is too
high.
