v. The installation shall be topped up and more sterilizer added.

vi. The installation shall then be left for three hours and shall then be tested for residual
chlorine; if none is found, the installation shall be drained and the process repeated.

vii. The installation shall be finally drained and flushed with potable water before use.

h) Measurement And Rates

I. GI and CPVC pipes

i. GI pipes above ground shall be measured per linear metre along the centre line of
the pipe and shall be inclusive of all fittings e.g. couplings, tees, bends, elbows,
unions, flanges, etc. Deduction for valves shall be made. Rates quoted shall be
inclusive of all fittings, clamps, cutting holes chases and making good the same and
all other items mentioned in the specifications and Schedule of Quantities.

ii. GI pipes below ground shall be measured per linear metre along the centre line of
the pipe and shall be inclusive of all fittings e.g. couplings, tees, bends, elbows,
unions and flanges, etc. Deduction for valves shall be made. Rates quoted shall be
inclusive of all fittings, cutting holes and chases and making good the same and all
other items mentioned in the specifications and Schedule of Quantities. Excavation,
filling, back filling with selected excavated earth, compaction and disposal of surplus
earth, fine sand filling around GI pipes, in external work shall be measured
separately, as per respective items.

II. Valves, Bib cocks and stop cocks

Gunmetal and cast iron valves, Bib cocks and stop cocks shall be measured by numbers.

III. Flanges for Nozzles

Flanges for nozzles shall be measured by numbers and the quoted rate shall include welding of
the flanges to the pipe nozzles.

IV. Painting/ pipe protection/ insulation

Unless otherwise specified painting/ pipe protection/ insulation for pipes shall be measured and
paid upon completion. These shall be measured per linear metre along the centre line of the
pipe, over the finished surface and shall include all valves and fittings for which no deduction
shall be made.

1.7 Mechanical Works For Water Bodies

There are many fountains in the garden of Ujjayanta Palace and the water demand of these
fountains will be catered by the existing Ponds.
There are two Ponds in the Ujjayanta Place where the natural water is stored, the same water
will be used for fountains. Two water treatment plants are proposed (one for each Pond).

Section 6 - Employer’s Requirements 6-192

Two submersible pump sets (1W+1S) will be placed in the pond itself to feed the Water
Treatment plant consisting of Dual Media Filter & dosing system.
Each fountain will be having its individual inlet from the main header line coming from water
treatment plant with automation like water level sensor & solenoid valves.
For cleaning and maintenance purpose a drainage network is also proposed, and the drained
water will be collected in the Ponds.
