Artist's Profile
Hi! My name is Kyrene
Schian Yv R. Almazan, and
I'm a nineteen (19) year old
born and raised in Baguio
City, a performing and
visual artist studying in
Baguio City National High
School under the Art &
Design Track as a current

Grade 12 Student.
More about me:
I'm just your average girl, who likes art!
I am both a visual and performing artist
but I do prefer performing a lot more.
Now what does this mean? Being a
visual artist means, well for me, that I
enjoy creating artworks that can be

couple of years, that never stopped me
from dancing in my room. I enjoy dancing
solely for the way it makes me giddy and
happy. Dance is a form of art that people
always just nod their heads to, but being a
performer mean you can make their heads
turn back and capture their attention.
Hence, I like being a performer as well.
Because of dance and performing, my
confidence got boosted so much that I had
enough courage to also be a leader and try
out things I've never done! Some will call it
attention seeking, but all artists are, no? I
believe that art is not only for those who do
it, but for those who can appreciate it. I
come towards the creative industry, with an
open heart to whatever it has to offer me. I
want to learn, and I want to grow as an
Artist, and a Human.
Artist's Reflection
I think that art is for everyone who has enough patience and kindness
towards creating. Being an artist isn't easy nor is it for those who can give up
easily. Being an artist mean you have to be brave, you have to work smart, but
also come up with something unique. But how is that in such a competitive
world? That every single thing you can think of is already done. But that I
believe is the twist. If you can somehow come up with originality or uniqueness
in the creative industry, I believe you can be a great artist.

However for me, that is not the case. I am aware that I fall short in
some of my artistries. I know I need improvements before I can go on and
start making my name. But because I am aware of this, Apprenticeship and my

mentors have helped me a lot. Not only Apprenticeship, but I also find myself
being able to practice my art through PPDA and MIL as well. And even PE! My
creative drive continues to be pushed and stretched because of my classes
and because of my mentors. I think that it is a wonderful opportunity to be
able to study under these classes of Arts & Design. I want to be able to hone
my artistry and learn how to further improve and these classes have really
helped.

Aside from my in-school apprenticeship, I also had one more. During

the first quarter, we had one more mentor who introduced I.conix to us. For
this, we started creating props, attires, and dances for a competition that was
festival themed. It was the start of second quarter that this got wrapped up
and we were able to finish. I was able to contribute in making a choreography
for the festival dance and I am inherently grateful for my mentor and I.conix.

Here's to say, that I have improved a lot since first quarter. It makes
me genuinely happy that I can study as well as practice art. Though I do not
have pictures of all of my mentors, I am grateful for each one of them for
providing me an opportunity like this. Not only them, but for the school for
providing a track that is both fun and educational. Yes, I will complain
sometimes. But ultimately what I have learned in my first semester of being a
Grade 12 A&D student is an experience that I will forever be grateful for. And
will remember across the multiple chapters that my life with Art.
