The document discusses three questions related to art and its functions. For the first question, the author describes how a cartoon they drew in high school that won first place in a competition helped them realize their abilities and potential. For the second question, the author argues that art always has a function, though it depends on context, and functions can be personal, physical, or social. For the third question, the author believes that while an artwork may cease to have its original function, it would still be considered art.

What art form/ Artwork has changed something in your life?
Why account for the
experience. One artwork that have a great impact in my life is my cartoonist drawing when I was in Grade 9 level. Back then in High School I am one of the student journalist specialized in editorial cartooning. I not good in drawing but I’m good in conceptualizing and imagining things that will make my cartoon more catchy and a powerful visual to the topic in editorial. Way back then I have low self-steam in competing in a DSPC. There are lots of what ifs in my mind that leads me questioning myself and feel bothered. However, despite of those what ifs, I tried my luck in competing DSPC and lucky and unexpectedly I won the 1 st place. I was taken by back then and happy, my goal is just my art to be seen and try competing in DSPC. Lots of the contestant were really good in expressing themselves in drawing editorial cartooning but my artwork stand out in that particular contest. Despite of those what ifs, my artwork in editorial cartooning made me realized that I could do whatever in life, those impossible things may able to achieve through your determination and love. The artwork serves an eye opener that despite of the lacking you can stand out and make a difference. Does art always have a function? Why? Support your response. Provide you own example. Everything in this world has its function and purpose. So therefore, I believe that every art always have a function however it cannot be assigned since the function of an art is depends on its context. The function of arts usually varies based on how they have been perceived by the one viewing them. Nevertheless, identify its function is to know what is the genre of the artist. As in our previous discussion functions of art may categorized into personal, physical, or social. Physical function are those tangible things like crafts, architecture and so on. On the other hand Social functions are those people performing social conditions while the personal function is an art something serves as therapy in both the artist and viewer and it is very personal. If an artwork ceased to have a function, will it remain an art? Why? An art without a function is not the same as art with a function. However, the question revolves on if an art stop to have a function, will it remain an art. Probably for me it still an art since it was categories back then that it has its purposed it is just they have to come to an end. Take for an example, an outdated brand of cellphone since it is an art with purpose we consider it as purpose but it’s purposed have ended when updated brand of cellphone is the new trend. The outdated brand of cellphone still there but the thing is the new updated brand of cellphone is more functional since it is more trend. However, the outdated brand of cellphone is still an art even though it is not being used. Over all, I believe that an art will remain even though its purpose is being ceased.

I never had interest in arts but once I saw some of this paintings in walls, I changed to be more grateful that I have enough to eat. 2. Does art always have a function? Why? Support your response. Provide your own example. Arts always have a function but they cannot be assigned since the function of an art form depends on its context. The function of arts usually varies based on how they have been perceived by the one viewing them. However, the easiest way to identify its function is to know who the artist was and what genre does it belong. Functions of art can be categorized into: personal, physical, or social. The physical functions are often the easiest to understand. Architecture, crafts, and industrial designs are forms of art that serves physical function. Art that depicts social conditions are the one performing social functions also. The personal function of the art is the most difficult to discuss. When art serves as therapy for both the artist and the viewer then that is serving the personal function of ar
