Vanessa: Really? So you can help me understand some of the rules
Roger: Surel Tell me what you know about volleyball so far.
Vanessa: Well I know some basic things about it. For instance, that volleyball is a team sport played by two
teams on a playing court divided by a net. Each team has 6 players. The sport originated in the United States.
Roger: The objective of the game is for each team to send the ball regularly over the net to ground it on the
opponent's court, and to prevent the ball from being grounded on its own court.
Vanessa: I didn't know that. What else can you tell me?
Roger: Well the right back-row player puts the ball into play and serves the ball by hitting it over the net to the
opponent's court. A team is allowed to hit the ball three times to return it to the opponent's court. A player just
can hit the ball twice consecutively, except when blocking. The rally continues until the ball touches the
ground, goes "out", or a team fails to return it to the opponent's court or commits a fault
Vanessa: Thanks, That information is very useful. And what have you learned about basketball?
Roger: To be honest, not much. I just know that basketball has many names like B-ball or Hoops It is a team
sport. It's very popular, especially in USA The game consists of two teams of 5 players in each and it is played
